Did anyone else give anything up for Lent?

Last year I gave up fizzy drinks and did that, just. (Was going through a spirit & mixer stage just before)

This year I gave up crisps, and it was so easy. Made no sense whatsoever.

How did every(any)one else get on, if at all?

I haven't given up anything for Lent since primary school, in all honesty.

I didn't give up anything but I knew that I wouldn't stick to it. I might try next year although I'll fail.

Nope. I forgot what I was going to give up. My Mum gave up my bread, and my sister gave up Facebook (weird, I know!)

I might try to give up something next year, not sure what though.

Nahh I didn't. I've attempted it plenty of times in he past and have never succeeded, so I've given up trying. :P

I'm by no means religious, but if you're going to give up a food for "x" many days, you might as well use the guide days for easiness.

Interesting responses so far!

I don't think I've ever given up something for lent. I don't think I'd be able to succeed in giving it up for the amount of time required so I just don't bother. :P

I've never tried to do anything for lent, just like I've never done a new years resolution.

I think it's the thought of 'you must not eat crisps' which makes me want to eat them. Like forbidden fruit :P

I can totally understand that, after all she is flawless!

In primary school my teachers always encouraged everyone to give stuff up, I doubt anyone actually did though. I just don't see the point in it.

It has nothing to do with being religious or not. It's how disciplined you are.
