You could do classy with a hint of casual or the opposite way round that way neither are overpowering the overall look. I know first impressions stick but I'm sure your personality will outshine the clothing you wear!

For a pub I think flat shoes are more appropriate and maybe a dress that isn't a long flowing gown but isn't too short either. If you get what I mean.

I'm not very good with fashion but I think the first idea would be better :).

How about a not too formal dress? Kind of like the ones from topshop.
The kind that are too casual for a job interview but too dressy for just hanging out at a friends house. :P

Go smart casual, wear a dress but nothing too extravagant

put on your freakum dress and go get your man!

in all realness, i'd think smart casual/casual (but leaning towards casual) would be fine because you're going to a pub - unless you're going to a bar or whatever after then maybe lean towards a more smart casual attire.

bethie firstly you'll look fabalicious whatever you wear

but as others have said, go on the smarter side of casual. a pretty dress with some lovely shoes (but not too heely).

maybs not leggings and a t-shirt though

Well you don't HAVE anything classy so that's that decided, but idk I wouldn't go in like baggy jeans and a vest or something. Might be worth asking him what he's wearing, he's prob worrying just as much about the same thing so it'll help you both if you decide beforehand and neither of you will then end up looking daft

Well, what do you wear when/if you go on family pub dinners? I'd wear something just like that really.
Or like others said, a casual dress.

I agree with smart casual. Maybe like where a nice smart shirt and trousers or something, but like a colourful shirt. Unless you're more of a dress person then that would look great too I reckon, as long as its not too short I guess.

THAT WOULD BE SO CUTE BETHIE
but I personally wouldn't mix a wooly cardi and wooly tights but it might look cute

I actually just have a thing against wooly tights

Agreeing with the smart casual so you aren't over dressed but it looks as if you made an effort. What you posted looks nice though, I'd go with that. I hope the date goes well also.

don't think of it as a date and then you'll get less nervous

think of it as seeing someone at the pub and don't feel all pressured to be perfect just DEEP BREATH and relax

If you're going to the dirty duck pub, take your phone and play your background pub noise. Wear tights cos he might be interested in pinching them later on.

Lol I think a smart-casual outfit that shows you're trying to make an effort but also that you're laidback and not going to start talking about marriage and babies at the first date. Good luck!

another gang member to add to the spam barrel? alrighty then, especially since i'm sure the majority of members who were in 'disagreement' with you are, well over that 'phase' - if we wish to call it that...
