Okay there's the choice of two places, no way am I staying where I am now.
Option 1:
http://www.daft.ie/searchrental.daft?id=1189188
Pros:
Nice little house
Has a fireplace
Good location
Quiet street (traffic wise)
Has 2 bedrooms
Has a small (and I mean small) back garden
Cons:
Quite small
More expensive
Option 2:
http://www.daft.ie/searchrental.daft?id=1193270
Pros:
HUGE bedroom
Reclining sofas!
Large windows
Alright location
Cheaper
Cons:
Busy road
Only 1 bedroom (but all we need)
I really can't decide. I like the idea of having a little house, but the apartment seems a lot nicer, especially the large bedroom. What do you guys prefer?

number 2! even though you say it's on a busy road, it's generally a better place so i'd personally just put up with the possible noise opposed to a smaller house. my uni house is on a main road and my bedroom faces the road and i don't find it that bad tbf. the main thing that's annoying is the street lights but that's because the curtains aren't that thick.

Option 2, it probably has double glazing (i'd enquire about that) In fact just enquire as to whether it has double glazing if it does take that because you wont hear much

Definitely number two. And as above stated; double glazing should remove most of the noise, and just get thick curtains to block and street lights!

It's not the noise I'm concerned about, it's the parking. It's right in the city so I'd need to get a parking permit (it's different in ireland than it is in england) and park on a road that is always packed! I'm not sure exactly where it is but it may have a view over the river too, depending what side of the building it's on. I just love the bedroom and sofas :D

If it's permit parking that may actually work to your advantage as obviously that limits the number of people potentially taking "your" spaces. That said, I actually prefer the terrace house
i would say option 2, it looks a lot better imo
depends what you like tbh, if you like a little small house and a quiet road to live on just pretty basic home suppose
then you should go with no.1
but if you only need 1 bedroom
then no.2 has what you need probs and its cheaper
personally i'd say no.2 :)

I'd go with number 2 as it looks nicer than the first one. If you need a parking permit also, as Tom said, wouldn't that mean that there is only certain people able to park there so you're bound to get a space as it isn't a grab the nearest parking space.
option 1 looks like it's got damp and rot seeping out of every orifice
deffo go with 2

The apartment seems much nicer and the first one looks like it needs a bit of working on. However if you're up for making somewhere your own then the house would be lovely with a bit of TLC.

owow, forgot I even made this thread! I do really like number 2 and the more I look at number 1, I keep getting put off it even more - but number one is directly behind my girlfriend's mum's house so we can just pop in reallly easily, whereas the other is about 5 minutes walk away and i'm lazy.
Oh and as for the parking thing, because it's right in the city all of the roads have parking meters so anyone can park, the purpose of the permit is for people who live there so that they don't have to keep paying for a ticket from the meters, it doesn't reserve you a space in any way
But yeah, I think I'm pretty much decided on number 2, but I'm going away for a week so I have to hope it doesn't get taken in that time! Thanks for your opinions everyone :)
