View Full Version : News Reporter Applications
I like how Sam has gone about it, cutting out the app form. Do you think more departments should do this where possible to give a wider range of users an opportunity?
One question for @Samanfa (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=53058); though will you be giving all good reports a trial then only keeping a few - because you could find yourself with a lot of reporters at the end of the process?
Lee.
What do you mean by cutting out the app form, you mean make it shorter, replying to all PMs, not having a closing date or what?
As for your second part, don't worry, we've never had a problem with excessive amounts of reporters, especially when quality is much harder to come by these days :). Although hopefully the standard of applicants actually getting a trial goes back to being a bit higher than previously.
Edit: Oh I see what you mean! Ultimately it will be judged by reports, but personally I think it's very useful to have more details such as Habbo names etc. and seeing whether the candidate is suitable.

Well so far I've had 2 reports and sent feedback to one of them on how to improve. However, I have offered another a trial as I saw immediate potential in them and I think they'll do well and aspire to do their best in the department. They also gave me an idea of how they can work towards deadlines and have a grasp of English too (he decided to introduce himself which was a bonus too).
Also, the report he wrote was detailed and long enough and would make it as a real article on Habbox which is mainly what we're looking for; the other applicant has gained feedback and I will reply to him later.
With the amount of people we get to apply it would depend, if I see instant quality like I saw in the one above then I will offer them a trial immediately, if there are a few who are not perfect but are of good quality I would have to way up pros and cons.
I'm sure Grig; might help me in that decision though (gives him a purpose pft ;)).
Thanks for the positive words Lee, appreciated :).

My own opinion is that if you can't be bothered to fill out an application form then I can't be bothered hiring you so not really a fan of the change but different people have different methods of dealing with things and as it's her department she is entitled (within reason) to do what she wants.
