Why bother asking? Go look on the Apple website, see the differences for yourself and make your mind up.

Isn't the new one just a display update, sharper images?

I thought the new one didn't have as may features as number 2 unless that was like the original was better than number 2. I would read review on them both and make up your mind that way too!

my mum got me the 32gb ipad 2 when the ipad 3 just came out, and said if i wanted the 3 i'd have to pay for the rest. i personally was fine with the specs of the ipad 2 but if you have the money (which i guess you do seeing as, well you're you) then just get the ipad 3...

The new iPad has everything that the iPad 2 has.

The new iPad also has, a retina display with one of the best displays out their at the moment for that device.
A5X Chip what hosts better graphics in the new iPad.
Dictation what allows the iPad to type what yo speak. This is not Siri.
4G connectivity, Though this is not available in Britain.

The new one only seems worthwhile side by side, 90% of the time you won't realise what you're using.
