You read it right, the Elder Scrolls is finally venturing into the world of online play. Not much has been stated as of yet, however we do know it’ll be hitting our PCs and Macs some time next year. After much speculation, from purchased domain names to hints on forums, people have been anticipating an Elder Scrolls Online for quite some time. Well, finally everyone’s wishes have been answered thanks to a certain ZeniMax Online Studios. The game will see players travelling across Tamriel some 1000 years before the happenings of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As I’ve said, not much is known about the game as of yet, however we can expect more information some time in June (or maybe at E3). It has been said that the game will allow players to join one of three factions. I’m assuming this will open up certain questlines, offering unique weapons and armors. We will also be allowed to fight in PvP combat situations, adding a whole new dynamic to the Elder Scrolls Franchise. The throne of the Emperor will also be up for contest. I’m unsure as to how this will work but I’m certain it’ll be an interesting aspect of the game.In all honesty I’m pretty excited for this. I love the Elder Scrolls franchise and feel it’ll be a great way to burn away some hours. With a 2013 release, I’m given plenty of time to save up for a decent PC to run the game too! With console gaming taking a significant dip in my eyes, this may be a refreshing way to rekindle my love for games. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this. What are your opinions on this? I’m sure we have lots of Elder Scrolls fans out there who’ll be more than happy to see this. I only hope ZeniMax do it justice…
