Habbox owns it's own server I think, and because of the large resources we need available it probably works out easier and maybe cheaper to do so :)

Hopefully somebody higher up than me can enlighten you on the costs of running the server.

If I recall correctly from last time Jin mentioned it the server itself is somewhere in the region of £200 but the software licenses for stuff like cpanel cost £500 per year extra.

Not really, I've had more reliable servers for 1/10th of the price. Maybe not as intensive traffic wise but processing wise very.

Habbox has switched its servers around several times, though for quite a few years we've hard our own dedicated server.

We used to use AxeHosting for the longest time. Been through several since then. And perhaps some before AxeHosting but that was before I knew anything about what hosting was :)
