I'm surprised, but then I don't really rate him that bad. I am glad gerrard has the arm band too that's good news :D

Thought it would be Gerrard that would get the captains armband, of which I am glad of!

Regarding the Downing situation - he's had a bad season!

The joke has been going around that about the comparisons with him and Tim Howard (everton goalie) about how Downing has scored 0 and Howard has scored 1 despite him being a goal keeper!

Hopefully Downing can prove us wrong and provide some great crosses when needed in the games!

Adam Johnson is quality.. needs to move sides then play instead of downing.. I've always disliked him!
