I didn't study it at school but I've read the book. We went to see it on stage at the Bradford Alhambra last year too.. both were fantastic. It's got so many themes running throughout and it really does make you think about a lot of issues in society today; not only racism, but the role that children play too.

I'm quite a big fan of American Literature; perhaps I find the words easier to understand than the likes of the Bronte sisters over here! :P Most prominently in the past couple of years, I've read The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye and Grapes of Wrath. The latter is another fantastic book - probably one of my favourites of all time. The ending is just... shocking.

Used it for gcse and it was one of the films in my American South module in Uni last year, which I had to incorporate into my essay. It's one of my favourites.
