View Full Version : What's your opinion on Limited Edition rares?

There seems to be some mixed opinions about the Limited Edition rares at the minute. Some people are bored of them, whereas others seem to think they're a good tool for Habbo to milk as much money as possible out of us. Some think they're just downright amazing.

What do you think?

I think they're a good idea! However, once the rare's are no longer available in the catalogue (after like 10 minutes :P ) people take advantage of this and inflate the prices far too high simply because they can. Overall they're good, however, they have there downfalls :D

I'll post what I said about LTD rare release times again (I put this in another thread);

Going to comment on the LTD here, I think it's really unfair on the Aussies due to the time they're releasing LTDs. 10pm BST, is 8-12 hours behind Australian time. Fair enough, some people might have been awake at 9/10am but I doubt that half of Australia would wake up 6am just to get a LTD rare which they didn't know was going to be released yesterday.

Also feel sorry for those from Singapore, it must have been a ridiculous time in the morning for them when the LTD got released. Can't Sulake simply release 500/1000 or w.e at a time that suits Britain and America, and then release a further 500/1000 later on at a time that definitely suits Singapore + Australia? ._.

As for my opinion of the LTD Rares, I think Sulake are going very OTT with them. It's very hypocritical how they're LTD rares yet they seem to be releasing them every other week? It doesn't ruin the idea of LTD Rares because they are genuinely LTD but it's ridiculous how often they're releasing them. The pricing is also insane, why would you pay potentially 1000s of credits for a black dino egg? Sure, it looks nice in a casino... but so does the regular dino egg (idk how much that's worth) or some other piece of furni. If you really wish to show off wealth, do it via GBs, not by owning about 80 or so black dino eggs like that FieryCold did.

I'm becoming bored of them but Sulake are just going to keep milking them for quite a while. If they only released LTD Rares every so often, I'd be a bit happier - atm it's just too common and irritating.

i hate them. Only because every time i buy one they go down in value.

They're very pretty though.

To be honest I don't agree about the timezones. They have all been suited to UK understandably but not on purpose, Sulake have attempted to key in with Australians by releasing at 10am BST sometimes and isn't that 8-11pm for Australians? I don't see how it's unfair on them just because the better ones may be released at different times.

I think the communication between rare and Habbos is poor, although I would love to know when each would be released (and have been informed each time) they should surprise us like they said they were going to do. If they remove the numbers on them what's the point of them? I hoenstly did never see the point in the numbers but some become fixated on them by attempting to buy every #1 out there for a ridiculous amount.

If you get one and sell for more then so be it, it's what it's there for, take advantage of it and sell them! If you want to keep it do that too but it's a risk you take when buying them in the hope you will gain profit.

I think more thought should have been gone into them myself, such as not giving out recolours. Understandably the Black Dino Egg is one of the best but I think that's because of the want for them, they are Supers in another colour and work well with casinos thus people want them more whereas Black Scifi Pods and Black Leviathans weren't worth much in their normal form so I don't think you can expect much in a recolour. On the other hand, it depends what is wanted more, Habbo know full well to make the more wanted rares have more items or indeed cost more such as the Dragon and the Dino. They aren't stupid and they are milking this to the best they can! I wouldn't be surprised if they did a LTD Olympic rare.

Ive not bought any personally, but to me, the inflation of the price is what a 'rare' is..
I'll probably never be able to afford any, it wouldn't be rare if it was so cheap and readily available :P

I know :P but some people are trying to charge extremes and at that rate i'll never afford them :P

It would be annoying if ALL rares from now on we're limited, and they were all so expensive, but I think it's alright for the limited ones :o

I'm not to fond of them, some look fab but most look like horrid recolours that they have chucked in Habbo for attention and more money seeking.

Bold - In all fairness, they have done that once or twice, but not enough to counteract how many of the LTD rares have been sold primarily in BST/EST timezones. Either way, the Aussies and Singaporeans are at a disadvantage in nearly every situation due to the .co.uk and .com hotel being more popular than .au and .sg, thus giving Sulake the impression that stuff needs to be focused on BST/EST timezones. They have tried to be a bit "fairer" but aren't there as of yet.

In regards to the 10pm surprise, I see where you are going with that and I do think it's a decent point that they want to surprise us with up, but going back to my issue about .sg and .au players - it's hardly a nice surprise to them. Everyone in BST and EST timezones can quite happily look in the catalogue and go ":O a LTD, What a lovely surprise -purchases" yet people in .sg and .au are going to wake up and be bloody mad that it was released at such a ridiculous time for them.

"Habbo know full well to make the more wanted rares have more items or indeed cost more such as the Dragon and the Dino. They aren't stupid and they are milking this to the best they can!" - They are stupid if they continue to release at such a frantic rate. Why do you think a fair amount of the V7 rares are worth so little? Because they released recolours of Rares like mad and people eventually got sick and tired of it. The same will happen with LTDs if Sulake keep releasing far too many.

And tbh, I wouldn't be surprised either if they released an Olympic LTD. I'd imagine they'd probably design an Olympic furniture range as well though :P

I thought that is what the plan was to make rare's officially rare? by making them limited only?

Yeah the Leviathan and the Cherry Tree both got released at times to suit them but then again, the Exec Drinks Cabinet, the Black Scifi Pod and the Theater Curtain were all available to them too if you think about it. Weren't some of the first Plasto range released at 1pm? I know three of them were which is also an ok time for them isn't it if they're 8 hours in front of us?

I don't see how they have been suited to US times in some cases due to 10am being about 5am for them and 1pm being about 8am which are both rather early too.

They are stupid for releasing many but at the end of the day aren't we stupid for buying them?

I can see them releasing the Big Ben or giving it out in a competition just because they like to go back on their word.

laptop bludy overheated ;l

The point you made about us being stupid for buying them is a rather fair point lmao and I can't rlly argue against it. It just goes beyond the point of insanity when you start purchasing about 80 ltd rares, like fierycold did.

Also, the final 3 pieces of plastic ltd were tailored for est and bst timezones Idk about other 2 :P

Wouldn't be surprised if they rereleased the sports furni as well. And Idk if they would go back on their word about big Ben, it wouldn't shock me if they did though.

I usually find that their design is really nice, but the prices are ridiculous. I understand that they are going to continue to sell them at such high prices because people are willing to pay them...but I think sometimes they could be priced at half as much as still be considered rare. :/

As far my personal experience with them, I'm in the US here and I've never been on during a release yet. P:

I thought the prices were ridiculous and the only one I liked was the tree and would've bought that if it hadn't of sold out before I had the chance but I didn't buy any and have noticed that the price of some have gone down haha

i loved the cherry blossom tree but most of them haven't interested me haha, i never have enough to buy them anyway but i do have a couple of rainbow tables that were given to me by a friend. most of the rares go down in price though so i feel it's a bit pointless buying them for 75c or so then selling them for like 50c lol.

They're releasing them too frequently. I don't bother buying any of the crap. People buy rares for their value I buy them if I like them. I think a lot of people take it all too seriously and try buy as many of a certain limited rare so they can sell them at a hire price but whatever tickles your pickle.

I think it's a farce tbh. Habbo are trying to create 'rare' furni and it's not exactly working... my perception on what a rare is, is something that shouldn't be released out of the catalog. It would be better if say 1000 people who entered a competition won the furni instead of making people pay stupid amount of credits for something that will de-value instantly. I guess it's a good money making idea when the latest LTD Rare cost 200c which from the credits page in the UK costs about £22.50.
