just back for another moan. Is anything actually being done about the server lag? I heard the radio is gone to **** because the server can't keep up with the stream and the forum is laggy as hell.

Should just get a managed server from some reliable company and donk everything on, i know babyg doesn't have permission (cos he doesn't have bank details or paypal) but jin should return give babyg details then bam, habbox is dying. RIP hx, if it ever goes up for sale we'll buy it richie and turn it into a comminity forum where pelfe is god and e5 is forum manager.

I'm pretty sure all of them have been 'solved'. The server isn't going to get fixed if people don't keep bringing it up.

I’m pretty sure the hxl thread you also started is still going strong and didn’t matt say in one of the previous threads that it’s up to Jin to fix it. I think everyone knows the servers are terrible but there’s no point in loads of people making pointless threads complaining and reiterating the same things when this has already been addressed.

He [Jin] came on just before and as you can see the lag or whatever you want to call it has gone again. I also believe he will be on tomorrow night as well

I don't think Jin is going to read through a good 20 pages of replies in a habboxlive thread to see people complaining about the server. They aren't pointless. If everyone is going to sit back and nod when matt says jin will fix it, they're the fools. As much as I like Jin he's busy in real life so he isn't exactly going to address the issue unless he sees it to be high priority and unfortunately the only way to show jin how everyone feels is to make a thread complaining about it.

I don't believe that for a second. I know for a fact if I was running a website and community members were nagging and nagging about fixing something i'd get it fixed faster to shut them up and to keep them happy. Besides it's not like I'm the only person who complains about the server. So no, I don't think he would 'just put it down to me feeling the need to complain'.

You don't get if you don't ask. Which is why I ask a lot so I get what I want quicker :)

Judging by the specs I seem to remember the server being, it should easily be able to cope with Hx, HxF, HxL and more no sweat... so it really does beg the question, what the heck has been done to it to make it so unreliable?

The server has no problems with entirely internal page requests.

Over the past couple of days it's been alright for me but it seems slow today, but I could be saying it seemed "alright" because I haven't been on in a very long time so can't really judge.

I might be being overly negative but this problems now been around for a good few years, is it really gonna go away?

It's not that great for the General Manager to be aware of the problem and not be able to do much about it to fix it, all you can do is tell Jin about these threads and post "I've told Jin" but naturally people are never gonna be happy enough with that, hard situation and all I can say is don't blame Matt, although that seems to be the one thing that's changed about these threads, clear understanding that the GM can do very little, if anything about this :P

Sometimes Russia, sometimes China etc. If I get any further updates I will let you know, like any time the server has problems I contact Jin straight away to try and get them dealt with.

Gonna be honest, it would be mitigated if you started blocking some of the 200 odd guests on the forum. We all know that at least 60% of them are bots.

Lol yeah Baidu is ridiculous, frequently had over 50 live connections just from Baidu crawling my website. Did not seem to obey robots.txt so I just blocked its whole IP range at the firewall.
