Also another good app to have is Street View. Not sure it comes built in to Google Maps (mine did not). It's always fun to see you house and other cool landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and stuff.

Having a look through my phone here are some apps, some free some not, that can do handy stuff. Some are for stuff the majority of people won't use. These are in no particular order. It's long but I'm bored ha

TweetDeck - Handy if you want to get all your social networks into one app
CloudMagic - Kind of similar allows you to tie multiple network accounts but its more of a search system where you can search for something and get results e.g. a search might bring up a tweet or a specific email - currently a bit limited don't think there's any facebook support right now
Speed Test - Check your download/upload speed
BT Wi-FI - Hotspot Finder
One Click Clear - Remove logs from phone including call logs, cache, browser etc
Apps Organizer - Not tried about to try though as it sounds handy as you can also organise apps by categories
SocialDial - Ring people on facebook if their number is there
CrowdCall - Allows you to have group calls
TeamViewer - Remote Control for mobile
Touchqode - HTML editor (possibly other code)
AVG Antivirus - free antivirus for phone
Barcode Scanner - Scan barcodes - for qr codes
3 handy apps I love that speak for themselves - Flashlight, Smart Measure, Bubble

Chrome for sure, definitely if you use it on your computer. If you're into twitter then check out Seesmic, I've tried almost all of the big ones and Seesmic is my favourite.
The official Xbox Live app is out now, and 100% better than the one you have now, and definitely try out SwiftKey X for an awesome keyboard replacement, SwiftKey 3 has a beta out, which might be free, but I paid for X so it might've just let me get it for free
