Ok well atm I have the Belkin N1 Vision

Apparently belkin have removed it from their official website so...

Basically want to replace this, it disconnects every 2 hours or you can temp. fix it on the config page but soon as you restart it goes back to how it was...

It's fine on the internet but when you're in a game and you suddenly get disconnected it's rather annoying.

I'd prefer it have a 'guest access' sort of thing, so users can join either main network or the guest network using the code (users on guest can't view/access anything on main).

Also is there any new routers that has visual display like the N1 vision?

It's cable version.

Thanks.

Ok another thing I need to replace is my keyboard.

I'm currently using the Razer Lycosa and to put it simply, it's ****.

Constantly has issues with keys sticking then it randomly starts using the media buttons so unplugging and plugging it back in 2-3 times a day is just annoying.

So I need a keyboard to;
- Have backlight (pref blue)
- Silent typing
- Standard design (i.e. no 16 extra programmable keys)
- Preferably not Razer as it's evident they look great but are just crap
- Have media buttons
- Wired

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

They don't really get in the way, I've never found any use for them. Besides you need to click one of the top buttons to record a macro first.

It's a very big keyboard though, length wise, but I always take the num pad off as I hardly used it, but when I need it I simply clip it back on and use it for whatever need I have for it.

Got plenty of space and keyboard atm looks about the same length-ish :P

Any other routers (it says limited edition so guessing it'll be hard to get and no price etc on site)

Damn the keyboard is 3 years old :P got my hopes up for nothing!

Excuse the drawing, as it's nearly 4AM and I'm tired :P

http://lexet.net/lolwot.png

is basically how the network will be set up, my laptops/phone will be connecting to the main network router, and family laptop/networks/phones and guests will be connecting to the other network

everything that's in a black box needs to be purchased so if you could recommend :)

You can't have 2 routers on a home modem like that.

What about daisy chaining the routers?

What about daisy chaining the routers?

You could do that... but unless your router supports VLANs or something there's nothing to stop guest traffic from hopping onto your internal network.

Quite a few home routers nowadays provide a "Guest" wireless network of some description... it might be worth looking into that instead.

Any suggestions on routers that do offer that?

Only one thats been suggested was the Apple airport extreme but the first review I read on it;

Limited networking features
Picky support for USB external hard drives
Only three Ethernet ports
No Web interface
No remote access for Windows users

which puts me off it.

Also any suggestions on an 8 port switch? :)

I have a sidewinder x4 and it does the job perfectly. I use for everyday typing and it feels great and sounds awesome too.

Found a few routers that support Guest Network (I think, not 100% on the lowest priced ones);

ASUS RT-N53 (http://www.ebuyer.com/291793-rt-n53-n600-wlan-router-4xlan-802-11-n-standard-in-90-ig23002m00-3pa0-)
D-Link DIR-815 (http://www.ebuyer.com/242164-d-link-dir-815-wireless-n-dual-band-router-dir-815-b)
D-Link DIR-655 (http://www.ebuyer.com/128049-d-link-dir-655-wireless-n-gigabit-cable-router-dir-655)
Netgear WNDR3400 N600 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-195-NG&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=1934)
Netgear WNDR4000 N750 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-198-NG&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=1934)
Asus RT-N66U (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-049-AS&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=1934)

Any suggestions/recommendations/thoughts?

Also any suggestions on a switch?

Ok got it down to;

Netgear WNDR4000 N750 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-198-NG&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=1934)
Asus RT-N66U (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-049-AS&groupid=46&catid=1596&subcat=1934)

Which would you suggest?

Also still need a decent switch, suggestions?

I'd suggest the Netgear one - but only because I've never had experience with ASUS routes (didn't even know they made them o-O)

Had a look at netgear one and had horrible reviews from users :P

So going with the Asus one, just need a switch now and a keyboard :P

ASUS generally make decent routers... I'm not sure on Netgear, but their managed switches I use at work are very good.

Switches... you can go for any. Personally I'd go for a gigabit switch made by either Netgear, D-Link or Linksys/Cisco.

I've got some gigabit TP Link TL-SG1008D think i'll just stick with that should do the job.

I think they may of just been released for buying this week, they're only a recent thing - or the carbon fibre looking ones are. ebuyer seem to like them at least.

Asus have announced the next version of that router a few weeks ago although there is no release date. It is the RT-AC66U and supports 802.11ac (Up to 1.75Gbps). As there is no release date dunno how bad your situation is and if you want to wait or not.
