Hi,

Well i just read this;
http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=751719

I thought the reputation system was going to be changed because "Pointless reputation" isn't actually real, as its someones opinion.
Plus i'd like to see what was being removed also if thats possible?

I think pointless rep CAN exist. I could -rep you now and put the comment as 'i dont like the colour of your name'- its not a valid reason to -rep you and so should be removed.

I do agree that whether or not it is pointless is just someones opinion, though. Perhaps they should only remove the rep that is absolutely not on?

Yeah I know on one instance I received really pointless rep (which some people saw and replied to) so yes it can exist.

However, sometimes it is mainly an opinion.

Pointless rep DOES exist, but if someone's going to report it, they need to realise that pointless POSITIVE rep should be removed too. People are giving -reps, and tbh I think there should be some system where if say one person gives too much -rep, they should have their repping privileges taken away from them.

But then again it goes down to personal opinion.

IMO you should be able to give out as much -rep as you do positive- you are entitled to have a negative opinion of someone just as much as you are a positive one. Obviously if someone is just abusing the -rep feature then yes, take it away temporarily or permanently though.

Rep has been like this for YEARS, why change it now?

tbh I think that example is valid -rep

Of course, but Brandon must have a set of requirements so it's his decision to remove or not. I think some people do use -rep more than is necessary and they should have it at least permanently disabled.

no one would be complaining if i +repped them saying "i like the colour of your name". therefore, there shouldn't be any issue with 'pointless rep' as the exact same argument can be turned around in regards to positive rep.

Yeah. If -rep gets removed for saying 'i dont like the colour of your name' then +rep for the same thing should do too. But ofc noone's gonna report +rep so... but if they then try to report -rep for something else, they should pay the price and have their pointless +rep removed too.

Valid reason =/= valid act

If I said that I hate Smiddy because he can breathe, the reason would be totally out of whack but there would still be an impact, however small. If disparaging comments without logical backing are cause for removal then I suggest wiping half the conversations that happen here and around the world.
