I was thinking... we should have a 'like' post button. because the reputation system has to wait seven days to reset before we can rerep that user again. I think it a like button will be good too :)
Another reason is not everyone replies to threads, so lets say a person shows of a mega cool room, this user will get comments and rep from their thread, but also 'likes' on the post.
I'm pretty sure there are many other reasons this like button should be implace.
Maybe a 'like / dislike' buttons :)
Thoughts?
clubhabbz has this. It's not bad, I wouldn't mind that any way.

Ahaa I've seen it on other forums.. which is why habbox needs it!
meh, I don't think there's need for both really and I prefer rep over likes.

It's not a dreadful idea and I suppose it'd look quite good. I'm not really fussed if it is/isn't implemented though :L.

If you like a post, you rep the poster.

"because the reputation system has to wait seven days to reset before we can rerep that user "
He wants it implemented because many users make more than 1 good post per 7 days he believes :P

Atleast someone understands my rubbish writing aha
p.s you can still rep+ the post if you like it.. im not saying to remove rep.. lmao.
p.s.s why not have something like this; For every '10' likes a user gets puts '1' point onto the reputation number scoring thingy?

re p.s I didn't say you said remove it, i'm saying have a rep system which is in place for users to give negative/positive rep based on their post content and having a thanks/like system which is in place for users to give positive 'feedback' based on their post content is stupid.
re p.s.s Because that would be stupid.

In your eyes I guess... I still think it would be a nice little add-on to the forum.

I remember someone brought up the 7 day wait before rep like a few months back
what was the conclusion on that being reduced?

I've only ever looked into one plugin that adds this feature to vBulletin 4 and it would change the reputation system altogether. From what I have seen in the settings it would do the following: Anyone who liked a post would recieve a X amount of reputation points.
What I mean by that is, if in the settings it was set to: 1. This would then mean all users who would thank a post would then give 1 reputation point to that user. At the moment, you get so many points depending on the rep power of the user who has given you that reputation. So I don't think It would really work that well here on Habbox as most users like gaining the reputation power. Another feature this would bring is for users to post exclusive content and then it would make users post to be able to unhide that post. Although I doubt that would ever be used on a place like HabboxForum.
It's a nice idea and it is used on other forums but I think the current way is just fine. The suggestion that would could change for sure is reduce the amount of days you have to wait until you can rep the same person.

This has been suggested before and I just find it annoying, the difference with rep is that you can actually dislike something and -rep them for it whereas a like button wouldn't do that and everyone would be able to see if you were disliked etc.
It would also be harder to moderate and I think Brandon has enough going on instead of adding that on top, if you want it so bad use a signature that allows people to thank you or something like I believe e5; has.

Ah I thought you might of been able to reprogramming it yourself for the forum needs.
I see your point, and it was worth a suggest! :P thread closed.
