What would you do (or what have you done) when there's no internet for you? Could you manage easily enough without it? Or would you go crazy?

im pretty sure most of us here spend a lot of our free time online, so what would you do to fill your time without internet?

a few months ago my router was broken and it took almost a week to fix it. i really had nothing to do apart from watching the TV and watching some of the movies i've downloaded in my laptop. i tried to get myself busy with stuffs like shopping, reading books, helping my mom out and etc. it was quite boring but at least i did something productive

well I would probably have a life if I didnt have internet Lol ;D But I do find it a nightmare not to check my facebook and all. I go meet friends whenever I can so I would go do that or try and find something to do?? lol

The odd time I've lost the internet I just read, it's quite nice tbh, having no distractions.

Think I would go crazy. The other week my electricity went off at home. I had no internet and my phone wasn't charged. :( It was hell. My internet contract ran out at uni where I was planning to stay this week and there was no way I could hack having no net so I came home and I'm buying myself a dongle LMAO. I don't really remember having no internet for long periods though, but I would probably just busy myself by reading/watching tv/going out. When you are on holidays, and have plenty to keep you occupied, you don't even think about it though.

If I never had it to start with then I wouldn't know any different. If it was to be taken away from me now then I really don't know what I'd do. :(

i would probably arrange to go out with people more than i do now. although i don't know what i would do during the night, or if i didn't have any money. i don't really watch tv that often and i would say that i only watch a couple of programmes a week. i guess if i was still in school/college at the time it wouldn't be as bad as i could always catch up on subjects, revise or complete coursework to pass the time. i'd rather have the internet 24/7 though, hahaha

I think I'd become very bored aha,

I guess I would just arrange to go out with mates and go out with the family for a while.

i wish my internet would die more often lol i'd have to get myself out of the house, beg my mum to go on a roadtrip or ask a friend to go out for lunch or something otherwise i'd be so bored at home. i never watch tv so id bake or just read but i like to do most my reading on the internet (cause i read one thing, find something else then read about it and have a million tabs open).

amazing how much we rely on the internet and how much we could do without it. it's no longer a luxury but a necessity. that's kinda sad. i wish i never got so addicted in the first place.

Depends really. If I needed to do homework on it then I'd be pretty angry or really wanted to talk to someone then it'd suck, otherwise I wouldn't really care (unless it was for a really long period of time). I'd just watch TV and movies which is just as good most of the time. :P

I'd probably go out more, read more, study more, generally live a more productive life

That's a frightening idea-- Considering the fact that if I lived in South Korea I'd no doubt be admitted to one of their internet addiction prevention clinics (http://www.geekosystem.com/south-korea-internet-clinic/), I'd wager that without internet I would live a fairly productive live wherein I would read more books and discover the meaning of "outdoors". If I was ever told what the internet was and that I couldn't use it I might consider investing in cyanide capsules.

does that mean no cell service either?

does that mean no cell service either?

Smartphones would be virtually useless anyway wouldn't they? Even with cell service there wouldn't be any data.

I thought I would post this here as it's some what related. A guy over at TheVerge started at the end of April to see if he can live without the Internet for a year. You can see how it's been progressing by going to: http://www.theverge.com/label/offline (Bottom is the oldest, top is the newest)

Although it's not life without the internet it is still pretty interesting to see the changes he has had to adapt without being connected all the time like he would be previously.

Meh, I'd just go back to reading books forever.

Although saying that, had a 1 hour powercut and went mad without it :/

I don't use the internet as much as I used to so I think I would be able to survive. I actually go days without using the internet much anymore. Life without my phone on the other hand..hmm. Damn materialism

Throwing Habboxers off the internet would likely push them into doing useful stuff, like you said xD.
Personally, I think after 2 days I'd be zombified and just sleep all evening hahaha

I can go for weeks without using the computer. The main reason why I'm on the internet is because of ebooks and for studies

ive started to use the internet less due to not having a need to come onto it much anymore. I do other things no such as swimming, gym, shopping and just hanging out with my friends. I know summer is approaching (fast) and i am going to try to use the internet even less.

I pretty much never use the internet anymore (except for h/w then I check out habbox for 1min during h/w ;P ) and I've survived for a few months.
I just lie on the sofa watching tv with my dog annoying me all day. :)

Conspiracy.

If the internet was never invented then I wouldn't know any different. If for some reason I couldn't go online I'd go crazy :') I'd probably just watch TV, play video games and read.

I dunno really, I don't come on half as much as I used to cause I find it boring and when I do I only use twitter and then other stuff. I guess people had great lives before the internet existed but then I guess they didn't know they were missing. The worst thing would be not having porn with a few clicks. Not gonna lie.

I think I could live with it after a while, But I normally fall asleep listening to podcasts or watching iPlayer or something, so It'd be hard to get used not having it at night.

I could probably live without it as I don't really come online as much as I did before. The only thing that would be a down-side for not having internet would have to travel to college to hand in work, do research for college work and not having Facebook so you can keep in contact with people.
