Johno has wrote the code that would be able to bring them back. So it's possible, depends on various risk factors I guess. IE; what some of the staff think about bring back photos that contain explicit or nude real life images.

They removed them because the Lingo code they used to take the binary data of the images used eval() which allowed raw Lingo code to be executed. In the months leading to their removal a few people figured this out and started using photos to log people out, direct their browser to a phisher and steal their passwords. Bit 'o history for ya.

if they do decide to create photos that can be placed on walls they won't give them for free, however if they do decide to do it for free you might only get a limited amount of photos which you can replace with newer images.

could be, but the only problem is that photos are furni, i can't see habbo wanting to give you all these free photos, but they might give advantages to vip members, maybe give vips 10 free photos a month.

:( sadly can't see them bringing back the old photos.

they could throw something completely new out here though, you might not have to double click photos to see them, you might be able to buy furni with the images on them, like posters or tables (as ridiculous as that may look), you may be allowed a photo bank of say.. 10 images, and then be able to create stuff from those images, then delete ones that you get bored of. they'd work a bit like group furni.

obviously this is complete speculation, but there we go.

Looks like taking pictures will be free and effects/frames will costs. But I'm not sure how Sulake will be able to-do that since it will cost them money to host these images.

Everything you see at the moment on that is all as a test, it might not represent the final edition of the camera.

Photos saved as PNG data in database, not hosted externally like badges. They'll also take up much less space than the old photos did, wouldn't worry about that. :P

Update: 63-BUILD1504 has removed the camera "Take a Picture" button, however camera functions are still within the client.

I found the place to re-enable it after 5 minutes, they fully removed the variable "camera.enabled" and just made the main variable always be false, therefore I changed it back to true and it works again.

They're clearly trying to stop us having early access to this tool.
