Lol not my article title, it was the headline. Thought I'd share it cos I found it funny.

A MAN has been convicted of assault after he plastered his lover with brown sauce for reading erotic novel Fifty Shades Of Grey.Raymond Hodgson, 31, flipped when he caught Emma McCormick with the “porn” and stormed out of her house.
He returned with a bottle of HP Sauce and squirted her from head to toe with the goo — completely coating her face and eyes — before splattering the walls.
The attack over EL James’s best-selling bondage book cost him his five-year relationship with 25-year-old Emma.
Last night remorseful Hodgson, a carer for his disabled sister, told The Sun: “I did what I did to show her what saucy really means.

Last line made me lol. Full article is here http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4421896/Mans-brown-sauce-attack-over-Fifty-Shades-of-Grey.html

So just curious but how many of you have their mums and aunties reading this book? My mum is reading it (I'm trying not to think about it tbh), my aunty is also reading it. So is it "saucy" chick lit or porn in book form? What you reckon? :D

my Mum has finished reading them I think......... I have no idea what would encourage you to pick it up, omg...
a family member bought them for her and they were in the book store like I CAN'T FIND FIFTY SHADES... then she found out what it was about a little later and was like.. omg.. awkward.

from what i've heard it's more pornographic than anything.

Loads of teens are reading it - I know quite a few 'popular' people bragging about having this book on Facebook/Twitter. I suppose if it's the next cool thing, they have to have it, even if they don't usually read.

I've skim-read it after a girl told me some of the quotes(it's a pdf version, i dont buy books let alone poorly written 'erotic' novels)

"His nose glides along the line between my belly and my pubic hair" - Why does she have a snail trail?
"he pushes his nose into my pubic hair and inhales." - what even?

Legit think I've sent better via text.

Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists in the United Kingdom, United States, and around the world.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-1) The series has sold around 20 million copies worldwide, with book rights having been sold in 37 countries,[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-2)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-3) and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter) series

Haha wow, I didn't know it was that popular? I've heard it mentioned on this forum and once on the radio pmsl.

£100 fine? if i could fine £100 for every time someone squirted their sauce in my face, i'd be a millionare.

no but really what a joke. hardly assault either. his answer "i wanted to show her what saucy really means" was hilarious though.

anyway pretty much everyone my age and their mothers are reading it which is amusing because they're the type of people who don't admit to watching porn or think 'fanfiction' is disgusting/weird when apparently it started from a fanfiction about twilight. i've read some quotes and it's really not sexy? and doesn't sound like a very romantic relationship either lolll. so no thanks, prob watch it if there was a film on it though.

There may be soon aha... wonder if it would ever be allowed in the UK though?

In early 2012 it was announced that there was professional interest in a film production of the Fifty Shades trilogy.[36] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-Times-35) Warner Bros. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warner_Bros.), Sony (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony), Paramount (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramount_Pictures), Universal Pictures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Pictures), as well as Mark Wahlberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Wahlberg)'s production company all put in bids for the film rights,[37] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-36)[38] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey#cite_note-37) with Universal Pictures and Focus Features eventually securing the rights to the trilogy in March of 2012.... ... In June 2012, it was reported that Angelina Jolie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angelina_Jolie) was interested in directing the film and was currently in talks to direct the adaptation.

lol i do think this article makes it sound fun but according to digitalspy it was more he forced his way into her house, slapped her then squirted her with sauce so yes that might be why. :P

I dislike this book because it doesn't benefit me other than providing sexual imaginations. You don't have to read a book to be sexually satisfied, I believe and I prefer academic reading now.

It is horrible, I can't believe that this hasn't blown up in controversy, especially with the ages of some people reading it.

My partner's reading it at the moment.. might take this into consideration.

But on a serious note, I'm going to make "50 Shades of ****" - I'm going to take a photo every time I go to the toilet for the next 50 times and create this new book.

Isn't it weird how pornographic books can be and nobody cares, but then films are made and there's a huge scandal and loads of politicians and people cry over how despicable this is especially with the olympics coming up blah blah blah...?

MY GOD. I hope not :( Imagine that (or not )!!!!

He was in a Carlisle court. Wonder if he's from Carlisle ha (My city).

The first thing I thought when I read this is I bet he watches porn. So how is it different.
