why are people so unbelievably stupid? we wait absolutely years to get staff on the client, and then when it eventually happens... we get one who is friendly, active and supportive. let's be honest - cupcaek was a good member of staff. now we have pathetic children who have nothing better to do, spoiling the game for the rest of us and creating an extremely negative image of the habbo community. this is why paul keeps banging on about "trust" - because there's some idiots out there who clearly lack some brain cells. it's obviously not fierycold because he's biggest habbo suck up 2k1-2k12, but there's still a moron behind the avatar right now.

You summed this up so brilliantly lol xD.
'Tis pathetic what people do these days for a bit of fun, probably ruined any chance we have of getting staff back in the hotel now

That's a shame. Get some decent staff and they'll be fired probably because someone thought they'd have a bit of fun. Hopefully people will notice matt and cameron and they can do a bit of advertising if they get lots of friend requests haha. ;)

Yea and the hacker said the same as cupcaek did to me a few days before so not sure but I think she has been hacked for a while.

Say bye bye to seeing staff again. Paul will get informed about this, no doubt.
I swear ages ago staff had to log in a secure server and when someone access their account it will block them cos different mac address etc. or is that only for proper office workers?

It's one thing to be so stupid as to let your account be compromised, and another to attack a member of staff during such a sensitive moment where staff may actually make themselves accountable, contactable and sociable on the hotel

I thought it was just the HKing... maybe I'm wrong though, it's been a long time since someones done it - the last one was that Italian...
The CRTs do get leaked though, I've been sent two recent release ones by people attempting to get everyone they know to help them gain access to HKing. xP No idea where they got ahold of them though... maybe there's a new leak on the ES hotel... (Both were sent by ES users).

If someone does know id suggest you contact Habbo instead of making a Cluedo scene out of it, Habbo will probably know who it is via checking IPs but it'll help them if you tell them who it is - you may even get a thanks off them.

Hopefully they'll trace the hacker, then let the law take over. The really sad thing is, people are either really cold hearted or forget this is effecting real peoples lives. It's bad enough to hack a random user but when you start hacking people and putting their job on the line, you have a serious problem. As much as I dislike some of the staff I'd never wish for them to be fired, it's a game to us, reality to them.

And people wonder why there's no playing Staff members!! Unless it was all a publicity stunt, doubt it though.

See I've been thinking about the staff badge thing all day (ngl) and whether people still got powers if they had the staff badge. I presume via this incident they don't anymore^ and that the "powers" are controlled seperately.
Who the heck was she then? How can you accidently leave a staff badge on an account? xD.

Not sure. Maybe she was hired as a moderator, account was created and then something fatal happened and she wasn't able to take up the position. Tragic.
So this means that cupcaek was the hacker all along. There we all were thinking that sulake had started involving themselves in the community again. lollololololololololollo

But there are no community staff. The only people that come on are the coders and that's probably only to check out their creations and get feedback.
I miss the days where you could talk to staff without using other mediums such as twitter or facebook. :( They say that they're bringing some old features back but they're completely ruining them. Room comps used to be sifted through by habbo staff and the best rooms were picked. Now it's all automated and whoever has a certain furni in their room can just vote themselves to win. Well... Probably a discussion for a different thread.

IT could be true. There are 2 badges - HS1 and ADM. The only difference on them is 4 pixels removed on one of them and I suppose it's possible 1 could be attached with powers and the other not. I remember reading about this incident a few months ago;
[Canada and USA] Wrong badge handout!
The American and Canadian version of Habbo used to do similar competitions which only required 1 news article being written then posted twice. When the staff handed out the badges for the "Kappa Gamma" competition, they made a horrible mistake. Instead of the competition badges being given out, the staff badges were given out instead - along with every staff right. Sulake quickly had to "hit the panic" button and close the hotel whilst they retrieved stolen furniture and safety-ban accounts - after that, everything was back to normal.
Completely forgot what year though. Maybe 2006? Which is why I've wondered if it's been altered since then :L

A badge is a badge, badges don't control account permissions.
I've only skim read so apologise if these mysteries have already been cleared up and I can't remember who asked what -
Badges don't equal rights. MODs, player support, techies, marketing managers etc all have the same "STAFF" badge but don't have the same user rights, they all have access to different tools. In the day they stopped many techies or marketing staff from having any access to ban and other user related tools. The account could have been issued a badge and hold no in-game rights or HK access, they used to do this for many reasons, more often than not it was because the account was a campaign account.
I can't enlighten as to quite how it works these days but as far as my previous knowledge stems certified access was only required for HK not client, they also introduced access to HK for approved IP addresses only (i.e. each member of player support was required to submit their IP address to be granted access). I don't know how that worked out or if it's still used, I left just as they implemented it. Hope that solves some mystery, I always wanted to be Jessica Fletcher.
Of course they're going to put it out there this account held no rights as they're still in the glare of the media while they're clearing up "pervert paradise", wether it actually did or not is impossible to tell unless the "hacker" used them on anyone. Hotel-wide messages were always a favourite.

Badges hold no power anymore. Puffin had said this in the council, that after the merge, the badges do not have any additional powers or privilege attached to them. That is why our VIP badges didn't let us enter full rooms.

What do you expect? a detailed analysis of every tweet he gets? If you tweet negatively constantly then you're going to be blocked. The key here is to have a little bit of tact; if you want to criticize then make it constructive. Although his replies may be short I'm sure a lot of the ideas are being taken on board.

He is actually correct, no staff member was hacked. Posted on previous pages in this thread, the account wasn't actually used by Staff and the badge was left over by mistake. There was no powers or access to any of the tools Habbo Staff use and therefore pretty much harmless.
He has a point though, it wasn't an actual staff member, just a staff account. When it has happened before I'm sure he wouldn't deny that it happened if it was an actual staff member but he's doing the right thing by not bringing it too far into the spot light.

It came to light that it was actually never a community staff account, just an account that was given the staff badge for whatever reason (probably a mod that quit or something) and then was discarded. The hacker found the account and used it to impersonate a staff member.
