I have been thinking about getting a tragus piercing but I am really nervous. I have watched a few videos on youtube to see how they do it and stuff. Some people say it hurts a lot and others say not that much. Does anyone here have theirs done? If you do, does it hurt? And how long does it take to heal? And anyone who doesn't have it, what are your opinions on it? :P Thankyou to anyone who replies :) xo

My girlfriend got one around 2 months ago, she said it really hurt! She was also in pain for literally 2 weeks and she had to be really careful when getting dressed and stuff because if it caught her ear it would really sting. One time she was kind of spinning round on a chair and ended up catching the side of her face with the piercing, on a friend and she actually had tears in her eyes! So yeah, it took about 2 weeks to heal for her but I don't know why because when she asked around everyone said it doesn't hurt and heals quickly, for her it was the complete opposite! I actually didn't like them until my girlfriend got hers pierced - but I gotta admit it does look quite sexy on her :P

I have it done, they did mine with a gun which is apparently illegal? haha! but didnt hurt at all, same pain as both my ear piercings. mine took ages to heal, had a load of gunje and stuff but no pain! and i think its a lush piercing to have!

I've had mine done also, first time i got it done it got infected and i had to get it all removed and wait for it to heal, then i was thinking i might just leave it completely but i decided to get it re-done and im pretty happy about it, Could do with getting a new bar though, n cleaning it regularly is a MUST.

Yeah. Guns aren't really good at all, people just seem to think that because they're more "hi-tech" than a needle. A needle is razor-sharp and can pierce the skin easily, whereas a gun is basically just shooting a blunt object into your ear. And 'cause it's blunt, it can occasionally make a hole much larger than expected (leading to infection, bleeding, etc).

I had mine done last year.
its going to hurt a bit, you're making a hole in your ear.
mine didnt hurt loads but the girl messed it up and got the needle jammed. i had a lot of problems with it healing and it still causes a bit of a problem sometimes.
it does in NO WAY take 2 weeks to heal.
they can take anything from like 6 months to 18 months (or longer) to heal properly.

I think it really depends on how your other earrings healed and how much it hurted when you did them.
If your normal earrings didn't hurt, this time it won't hurt as much, probably. Some people heal quickly, my normal ones took me like 6 months to heal, which is way too long, that's why I'm scared of keep piercing my ears, even if i really want to.
didn't realise how many... er boys had these
my friend got one done ages ago and she said it hurt like ******* hell, a few weeks ago actually she had to go to the hospital 'cause the piercing fell down her ear in the night

i had my tragus pierced a week ago and for me, it actually really hurt. obviously, for some people it doesn't hurt. i think it hurt when she was putting the bar in or whatever she was doing because she pulled it about a lot (think she was screwing the back bit on or something) and that's what hurt the most. afterwards it didn't hurt at all and i haven't had any pain since. you should get it done amy, i'm so glad i did because i think it looks really nice!
i actually think boys look nice with tragus studs, i know a couple of boys irl with their tragus pierced.

Its not insecure, you've posted something that doesn't contribute to the thread at all. Next you will be saying people who cut their toe nails are gay also?

When did I say anything was gay? And I think I did, it was a warning that these earings can fall down your ear, haha!

I was talking about the normal earrings. Just in the skin, no cartilage.. Not really normal.
