I've never ever used a tanning bed before and don't intend to use one ever again, I'm just curious about it. I'm going to my debs next month at the end of August and have decided I'd like a nice tan, as I am ghostly pale naturally. I don't want to get a spray tan as I don't feel comfortable being half naked in front of someone I've never met before and I don't want to do it myself in case I mess up (or get someone else to do it for that matter, in case they do). So I've decided on going on a tanning bed, but I'm just wondering, because I don't tan easily, does that mean it will even work? Like, does your skin have to naturally tan? I am really clueless about this sort of thing, because I generally don't do it :P So, if anyone has ever used one, it'd be a great help! I don't want a dark tan, just a light one, just so I don't look sick, just healthy. Oh, and I know how bad it is for you and the risks of cancer.

i know someone will probably say this is really bad for me but idc lol but i did tanning beds they got too expensive and some parts of my body tanned normally (mostly like my top half) my legs were usually pale and like bum etc but i did them and at first i burned (bad i know) but after burning once it would just go red a little for a few hours after then it would sort of build a base. its really better to do bed if your going on hoildays to build up a base then you have the sun all the time to get a proper tan. you will probably have to start out on a real low amount of minutes (i started out on 5) but thats cause i tanned on the top half of my body and in like two weeks i was up to ten minutes. it was good for a light tan, took me maybe 3-4 weeks then i started too look too dark in winter and it was getting expensive so i stopped lol.

there are creams you can buy in the shops they sell so many i found most of them stopped me burning on areas that would normally burn and there is like "start cream" then cream to build up as you progress just ask cause they will help you will all that stuff. they helped me haha me and the tanning shop lady where on first name basis and would have little conversations about our lifes everytime we went
ok im rambling on lol!

but ask in the shop they will know for sure and tell you how to get a tan at all if its possible for your skin type (they will tell u it by asking some questions)

also if your a natural ginger you most likly wont tan
idk what you are haha

You can use like fake self tanners (i have garnier moisturizer stuff, it really works). I've never used beds but my friend is at the moment, you usually do multiple sessions, not just one. I persnally don't see the problem in using them, but if you are iffy there are always alternatives.

Why would I want to look like an umpa lumpa as well as have to put up with the hassle of 'topping up' my tan every week?

Anyway I don't need to worry, as i'm naturally tanned :D.

I would never use a tanning bed myself, my skins tans really easily. Now i'm preventing myself from exposing to the sunlight too much cause i don't wanna get too tanned lol. Be careful of staying exposed in the bed for too long, you might damage your skin and probably can cause skin cancer.
