I believe the marketplace averages should be reset once in a while to stable up the prices again on some furni, at the moment some furni has hit rock bottom due to the marketplace averages and everyone selling at that price - the reset would possibly push it up a bit.

Thats a really good idea.

It resets if they haven't sold in 7 days. Don't see point in resetting as it wont give good values and some wont know what to sell for? People will just put in for higher and others may think that's too high or not what it was before. Would be easier to rig to ensure they get the average they want too.

Also, what about all the items in it already?

what would be the point in that lol, im sure the values are fine, they are driven by demand and it will obviously be higher if there is less of an item/more people want it. thats how all the values work?

The furni at the moment doesnt give good values, the values it gives is the driven down value of Habbos moving the price of items down lower and lower. If there was a reset it would allow new users to take to the benefit of that and sell their items for more before its thrown back down to rock bottom again.

Not sure if resetting would work. On one hand it would raise the value of some unnecessarily devalued items, yet on the other hand it would be much easier for people to rig the prices of rares and raise them when they aren't nearly worth that much (like the Jade Spaceship Door).

but thats the point, the value is low because they arent worth a high price....
it looks like your just trying to makea profit or something lol

If they reset it the prices might go down wouldn't they..... Then you would not make as much profit :s xo

Don't really see the point of this as a lot of furni would have no average and most of the time it corrects itself anyway. It would also pose a few days of people being bemused (I guess they could always come to Habbox Rare Values ;)) and it will just mean that people get conned due to lack of value knowledge.

Hmm the current system is a good one. Averages are based on items sold which is the most representative way of doing it. If prices were to reset then it allows people to make up their own prices for items that may not have been sold for a while rather than basing it on prior sales of that particular item.

If an item crashes then it's normally for good reason, for example dark water will probably go down by a few coins now that it's in the catalogue and will inevitably rise when taken out. Sometimes people have urges to build habbo mansions, at which point the demand for kitchen corner blocks, garden hedges, short grass and the like rises and, in turn, so do their value. It's not that difficult to understand how the market works. supply and demand!
