I know why Habbo moved to Flash because more users already have flash so they don't have to install Shockwave to play Habbo.

But on my computer Shockwave is pretty much more solid and clearer than Flash. It's like HD version of Habbo compared to Flash.

It only took two seconds to install Shockwave and its still on the market, bad move? Or makes sense?

Wasn't it for security reasons on why Habbo had to change over? I think it was to prevent third party software etc.. correct me if I'm wrong though.

It won't be for security reasons (100%) because shockwave and flash are both developed by same company and always updated.

This played a large role, Shockwave is also slowly being depreciated by Adobe and is not as functional as Flash. Flash also reaches a much larger audience as alot more people have it installed.

Software developed by the same company is not always developed by the same team of programmers, meaning that security fluctuates. Flash uses its own Virtual Environment to read its code, Lingo used GZIP type compressions (similar to that used in Adobe Reader), and could therefore be decompiled. It was also very easy to inject custom code that would execute on other users clients on the Lingo client (for example, through Photos). Massive security risk.
