Saw this on my friends profile last night. Basically a group planning to attempt to eventually be able to transfer memory into a chip so when we die we can live on as a robot/avatar etc. There's a load of information and stages and interestingly the the dalai lama supports it although this is strange as people have pointed it it probably would mean you couldn't get reincarnated if you lived forever.

What do people think about this? Do you think it is a realistic date proposed on the article and would you consider this? I'm not sure if I would want to live forever and human and robotics to me are two separate things - turning myself into a full on robot to me would be kind of removing what makes me human in my opinion.

It's an interesting read though and I'm planning to do a debate on it for my radio station's debate show. Take a look at http://www.gizmag.com/avatar-project-2045/23454/
