I don't know if this would be ultimately worth it, but personally I'm someone who only enters competitions for VIP and they aren't very common. Basically I'm wondering if it would be possible that rather then fixed prizes (e.g. 5 credits + 10 rep) you would essentially have tokens where say 5 credits = 1 token. Should they win, then they would select their prize from some sort of list or something. Obviously furni and credits would be subject to availability yada yada but I would probably enter more competitions if I didn't win pointless rep and credits for something I don't even use.

Still shouldn't be giving rep away, just give furni away :/
that's not a bad idea actually. perhaps after winning so many tokens you could redeem them for vip on the forum or something? obviously you would have the choice if you wanted the 5c or not but it is a nice alternative for those who don't use habbo :P

You can exchange credits for rep points, which was aimed at the non-habbo players. I always thought it was a good idea to offer furni prizes, but to be able to get enough entries there'd need to be a pretty good prize.
I like the idea of accumulating prizes though, so if people saved they'd get a bigger one? So like winning 5-6 regular comps for VIP or a good piece of furni, if that's what you meant? Brain's not really switched on atm.
There is more than likely a plugin for this sort of thing, I really like this idea!

I'm interested in this idea, but how much work would be involved for the Competitions managers/forum management to have to maintain the points redeeming? I like the idea though.
Inseriousity.

This idea was said a lot while I was competitions manager. I didn't really like it tbh. Competitions' market audience is normally the newer users (ofc anyone can enter) but I think it'd cause a lot of confusion that they'd won a competition and only got points that they have to accumulate.

Then say you can exchange prizes for tokens? Don't have to make it obligatory :S

How is that at all confusing, if it's clearly stated on the thread where to exchange points it's fairly simple. Infact it's basically buying something from a shop, which I'm sure a lot of 10-12 year olds have grasped the concept of. And if necessary, you could easily do what Laura said.

I like the idea of that, haha.
Like collecting points :P
What do points make? Prizes!
it would be more awesome if i could exchange points for money $$
VIP is only really offered for special competitions or events so to include it as a prize for these proposed points would mean you would need a fair amount of wins to be eligible in order to keep it exclusive. I don't know if it would work for the newer members who tend to enter the competitions now since they would need to stick around for a while to even have the chance to enter, let alone win, a good enough number of competitions.
That said, this is a nice idea for those older members who don't necessarily use habbo or care so much about a few free rep points and I can see it encouraging a lot more people to enter. Keep the prizes as they are and add a disclaimer that states that if they choose not to take the prize then they can accumulate wins and exchange them at a later date for a different prize if they so wish. It can't be too much trouble and surely will save the department a few bob on the coins they'll have to fork out.

I would be sure to enter more competitions, if the tokens could be accumulated and then spent on larger stints of VIP,
I think that's actually a fab idea.

I think this is a pretty good idea, a choice of Habbox Tokens or Habbo Furni, why not offer members a choice of the two.
Competition entries could do with a boost, and donations of furni and creds would still be attractive to new players!

A lot of people do the comps because of the coins and rep though, me included. I've won 5 coins and 10 rep and that is the reason I do the comps. Personally, Habbox VIP isn't something that I really want, and I prefer the prizes as they are.

Also 5 or 6 comps is 25 or 30 coins, which can give you a good furni.

But the proposed system would offer you and all users a choice if they don't want the furni. You can still enter and win furni, others can enter to win other things. :)

I guess it all depends on the furni they offer and the other prizes if winners don't want the furni.

Really i think it should be uto the competition staff what prize they offer. I did a comp last month which should have obviously been a vip but it was stuck with a 5c one hence the lack of entrants. I remember Catchy; asking if he could buy rotator for the winner of obe of his comps and was allowed. I'd happily give my own furni away as my comp prizes, I don't agree with points really though.
I really don't care about 5c prizes, and I don't tend to enter competitions much. I really only want to enter the vip ones. So yea, I think being able to exchange the prize for a token which you can accumulate to earn vip would be a good idea =]

I quite like the idea of having the tokens. I think it could work as long as the actual prize for the competitions wasn't 1 token. So the prize would still be 5 credits + 10 rep or whatever but then you would have the option of exchanging it for a token when the winners PMs are sent out as well as the option to exchange your credits into rep. If it just said at the bottom of the comp that you can exchange the prize for a token instead of having it as the actual prize then it wouldn't cause any newer members to get confused or put them off entering because of there not being a Habbo prize. But yeah, if it was maybe like 5 tokens = VIP or something so it wouldn't really be too often but at the same time it gives those who don't use Habbo and don't want the credits a good prize to win.

Maybe there could be like annual comp, the most tokens each year gets an extra prize? Like a comps addict trophy or hxf prizes!!
