Considering buying two at this price, what do you think?

How can they sell it for that price? I'm seriously considering it too now, but it's so cheap!!!

I've sent the seller a message as if the items are in the UK It won't take that long.

Might just buy one and take a punt, always covered by Paypal.

Is it actually covered against fraudulent sales? I actually really want one tbh, might do the same as you, if 2 of us made the same complaint then maybe they'd be more likely to do something just in case?

Yep, covered against item not as described, item not delivered, everything.

If it was a fake copy, it would be not as described, as he clearly states they are New HP Touchpads.

Screw it, buying one.

I got one in the fire sale and if you had as well you would not be saying that. It runs android ICS and even today it is still incredible value at the fire sale price it was sold for a year ago and for £20 it is so cheap it seems highly suspicious.

Ships with WebOS, Which is a very nice OS, Very responsive.

You can put cyanogenmod on it, not that hard, CM7 and everything pretty much works, they are currently working on CM9 for it.

I suggest watching a few youtube videos to compare them!

CM9 for TouchPad has been available for 8 months, there is no reason to be using CM7 on it anymore.

I ended up switching to the nightly several weeks ago because of the battery thing, and I found it was still much the same poor battery life, so I just booted back into webOS in the meantime and I get pretty decent battery life now.

Large amount of the item + Cheap price + Bulk sales + eBay = possible stolen goods

tm
02-08-2012, 03:25 PM
Looks dodgy as hell to me! Definitely a stolen or hacked inactive account with old selling feedback.

1. price is insanely low. other people are selling for £150-200
2. feedback looks VERY dodgy.
- all reasonable looking feedback is from 2010,
- the only two new feedbacks (2012). one is buying a 60p game cartidge case, the other is buying an art print for 2p.
3. the user, after so much inactivity, suddenly has 3 RIDICULOUSLY cheap items for sale in very large quantities.

- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seagate-Expansion-2-TB-External-Desktop-Hard-Drive-3-5-SuperSpeed-USB-3-0-Black-/190709701331
- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-TouchPad-32GB-Wi-Fi-9-7in-Glossy-Black-HP-/190709702722

I wouldn't even bother if I were you. Seems like a VERY clear scam. I highly doubt the items for sale even exist.

//edit - also the item he bought for 2p was to the netherlands with free postage?

I bet you end up with a cardboard box stuffed with newspapers/magazines which will be the correct weight and you'll sign for.

Can I suggest one thing to you...

EITHER: Open it in front of the delivery man so he can vouch for it or record it.

I had the same thing with an iPad I got off Amazon, although I did pay a lot more the guy was a scammer. Thankfully Amazon covered me because I opened the package and then grabbed the delivery guy before he could go anywhere so I was fully covered.

Aye, I just saw that, the paypal the payment was sent to was a Chinese name after checking, but the Paypal IS registered and verified, so if it is a scam then money will be easy to get back.

Don't get why people try to scam on eBay, one of the hardest places to do it!

I'll give it to the end of the month probably then start a claim, we'll see, has yours been marked as dispatched?

Edit; saw he has changed his location from the UK to China too, even though the listing still states the UK, hm.

eBay/PayPal will most likely request you destroy the goods if they are counterfeit rather than send them back.

From the buyer protection agreement:

"If you lose a Significantly Not as Described Claim because the item you sold is counterfeit, you will be required to provide a full refund to the buyer and you will not receive the item back (it will be destroyed)."

Also in any case you're still protected by the Sales of Goods Act and the Distance Selling Regulations since it was a buy it now item. Even those laws provide you the means to get a refund and not have to pay for return postage if it is not as described, faulty or not fit for purpose and are completely separate from any eBay or PayPal agreement.

I wouldn't worry, the Seller does not have a leg to stand on without Tracking, oh how that's screwed me over a few times, always send stuff recorded now!

Here is a quote from a claim I had. "Customer Support comments:
We didn't receive tracking information from the seller. We're sorry you have a problem with your purchase, and we're issuing you with a refund in this case."

If he is fraudulent, with the other sales he will have over 100 claims against him, eBay would take action on something like that.
