Tuesday 7 August we will be able to play Habbo turkey for the first time, how do you expect a new Habbo hotel to start off with How will thrones get into the Habbo economy along with the other supers? Will the hotel be different/updated to others?

I'm wondering though,

because its a new hotel, If many English-only speaking signed up,

could another English based hotel form? even though the language wont be in english ect,
but english users?

I don't think there will be much difference from this hotel to other hotels. Although I do wonder if and when they will get any rares such as thrones and that.

I really don't understand why non-Turkish speakers are planning to sign up, let alone why people are looking forward to this. Every time a non-English speaking hotel opens the same thing happens, there's a surge of Anglophones who sign up and then they never log in again.

I remember it happening with the Chinese, Russian and Singaporean hotels. I think Sulake want us to sign up though. If we populate it originally and make rooms / events / something for the native users to do then eventually they will take over the mantle.

Thats a point :O I think it would be good if they gave the first so many members a random rare like the throne or something that won't be released.

In the past it probably would of happened because a) people just get insanely hyped up when a new community flourishes and b) New furni/rares might have been spotted/released on these new hotels before others. I know the new rares/furni thing happened on .sg and possibly on .cn (I think they had Asian first? OR was that .jp) and all other hotels of course, but I don't think it happened on .ru.

Nowadays (considering Sulake don't bother with releasing rares/showcasing rares on one hotel before others...) I think it's just because of the hype and to get a rare name. Nothing majorly exciting, I did the sign-up thing but I doubt I'll ever go on the client or attempt to fully create an account haha.

Only staff names will be taken before. I'd say that's a maximum of ten. There are then millions of words which are seen as 'rare' to English speaking people. I'm sure we can all get one :P

I really doubt there is such a thing as rare names on Habbo anymore... the concept is dead... you can Have 50 habbos etc, your thinking is too ancient!

Oh yeah! I remember when the Brazilian hotel opened and everyone made MOD- names (most were banned) and the only hotel in Habbo where official mod names were using underscores MOD_Prefix

I said decent names not rare names :P and by that I meant names that people really want, for example their real name because I know I'm going to try and get the name Paige or anything close to that

What we think are rare names will be meaningless words to Turkish speakers.

I see for personal use, fair enough cool. I still have some extremely "rare" names on the Brazilian hotel registered on the 1st day, whenever I log in and enter a random room I get like 30 friend requests :D

I was about to post this damn you :(. Yeah that's true, very few rare names will mean anything - "1, 2, 3" etc. and "Habbo, Sulake, Moderator" are the only ones I can think of that they'll know. But I imagine Sulake will take Sulake and Moderator for obvious reasons... uncertain about Habbo.

On Brazil hotel "Habbo" wasn't taken so I doubt it, that name would be cool :)

People will go for generic names they believe to be Turkish. Words like Hello are universal too. I guess some of the best names for the Turkish hotel will be: Habbo, Bobba, Hello, Kebab, Hi, Merhaba and then any one character names such as '!' or what have you.

atpeak; I didn't say anything asking about the release of rares, so I don't know how my question was "nooby". I was asking about how things like the marketplace would get averaged out and if people would just trade things at the catalogue prices, or how values would be affected once people started selling in their shops.

If you were capable of reading you would have seen that I have discussed it will be predominantly .com users who populate this hotel. People will get kebab trying to be hilarious and bobba is self-explanatory for an existing Habbo userbase (which is their target audience). I can speak Turkish relatively well and it's very common for people in Turkey to say Hi to greet one another - not as much hello but hello is the top most recognised word in the world.

Trust me, I'd know :P!

And perhaps if you were capable of engaging in intelligent debate you wouldn't have to resort to aggressive and snide comments as a substitute for reasoned argument. For the record, I read and understood your post perfectly well, you insinuating otherwise is not going to intimidate me into leaving your opinions unchallenged (as you no doubt hoped they would be).

Habbo Turkey's target audience are young Turkophones. Your assertion to the contrary is ridiculous. They are not targeting this new hotel at an already existing userbase of habbos, that makes absolutely no sense. Why would they, what possible motive can there be to open a new hotel for users who already have their own hotel, and who can not speak the local language? After the initial hype has worn off, no .com users will remain active on the Turkish habbo.

Bobba will not be rare because the language filter in which 'bobba' was used no longer exists. Turkish habbos using the new Turkish habbo will have had no experience of the old filter and thus no reason to think 'bobba' rare, or even associate it with habbo at all.

Whether or not 'hello' and 'hi' are in common use in colloquial Turkish is irrelevant, they do not officially exist in written Turkish. Certainly one could say hello in Turkish, in the same way an English person can greet someone with salut or aloha - but it is not popular custom and as such there can be no reason to suppose young Turks will consider them 'rare' account names.

To be honest though, the targets audience is turkey, but that still wont stop other people such as those who speak English Registering, If anything it would only make it more popular for the hotel till it gets a large turkish fan base,

Plus habbo did make the promotion room for every hotel to announce the turkish hotel,

I would not flatter yourself into thinking that I don't want a reply. Without sounding too egotistical, Turkey is one of the languages I have studied at a very senior level and the only reason I'd say I'm not fluent is because I wouldn't understand teen slang used by the Turkish people. That leads me onto my next point.

There you go, bang, you're wrong. Hi is in fact a Turkish word, I was waiting for you to walk into that one, and you did - without fail. You clearly have a very poor grasp on the Turkish language and our culture and I... well, I don't. You say it is irrelevant just to bolster your opinion (let me stress, that's all you have, an opinion and if you were intelligent enough you'd understand that your opinion will clash with others) whereas in fact it's hugely relevant.

If you are under the illusion that Sulake aren't targeting current players, then I ask you why they made a public room on Habbo .COM doing a count down and gave it huge publicity on hotel view, a page that every single player logging on would see. They also ran a campaign on my main hotel (habbo.es) regarding Habbo Turkey. Again, something you were evidently unaware of.

Bobba will be sought after because as my above point says, they are targeting current players to help populate the hotel in the first few months. I take it you're new to Habbo because they adopted the same approach to Singapore, China and Russia hotels.

There is one way to see who is correct - whether these names are taken on the first day on Habbo Turkey by someone other than myself - I'm sure they will be ;)

I'm afraid I am not wrong and here is the proof. This is a list of every language that uses the word hi, (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hi) notice please that Turkish is not on that list. If you can not offer anything to contradict me other than your own opinion please do not tell me I'm wrong again. Hi is not a word in Turkish, it may well be an Anglicism that is used in colloquial Turkish (like I said in my previous post), but that does not make it a Turkish word.

You are making a lot of foolish assumptions, about me and about Sulake's intentions - none of which are accurate. I would have thought the reason why Sulake are promoting the Turkish habbo on other hotels is obvious, to get people talking about it. They want us to tell any Turkish friends we have about the new hotel, they are simply using us as free publicity. They do not want habbos from other hotels to use habbo Turkey, just to talk about it.

Bobba will not be rare for the reasons I have already given. You have not said anything to change my mind on that score. Everything you have said is based on the assumption that non-Turks will use the Turkish hotel for more than a few weeks, that they will be able to communicate effectively the meaning of bobba to new Turkish habbos and that those new habbos will care. None of this will happen. Whether I am a new habbo or not is neither here nor there. Your analogy between the new Turkish hotel and the Russian and Chinese hotels is false; those hotels were not targeted at existing habbos (non Russian IPs were actually banned from Habbo RU).

There is one way to see who is correct - whether these names are taken on the first day on Habbo Turkey by someone other than myself - I'm sure they will be ;)

That is ridiculous, that will not prove anything. Of course those names will be taken, they will be taken by habbos from other hotels - that is not in dispute. What is in dispute is whether new Turkish habbos will perceive them to be 'rare'.

edible The new hotel is going to be aimed at a fresh new userbase, not existing Habbos at all. Like Okeanos and iBlueBox said it wouldn't make sense to target current users, thats not what their aim is. Some words will be rare. But like the word "Bobba", thats not even associated with Habbo anymore, it's another game altogether. So to the new users that word would be alien.

I was told that people were telling people who spoke in Turkish to shut up. To be honest, Sulake shouldn't have advertised it on all other hotels. It should be just used for people who can understand the language.

They could always unblock it again in the future if they solve the issues out.

Proxies, VPN's - You need an IP based in Turkey. I don't know about custom loaders but you can get around it via other ways as well :P

I'm not surprised they blocked it - they did the same with China and Russia when they were opened and even Japan too. They just want to get a solid amount of local users before they open it up for everyone. What I don't get is the huge marketing thing they did in every Hotel, that was just unnecessary...

Anyway, I really don't get what the fuss is - it's not like it's going to be the "main Hotel" of anyone here. I'd rather it being blocked and getting an easy start for a Turkish community to be born and stabilized before opening it up to any foreign users.

It's so out of order. Apparently the Turkish can come onto .COM but we can't go onto .COM.TR. What about Turkish people living in different countries? No access for you! It's a shame as well because Istanbul (Hotel Manager) is so sweet and I'm so happy that their community actually has a Hotel Manager unlike our one.

Countries with a lot of Turkish people have access to the hotel.
