It takes me so long to fall asleep, unless I am completely wrecked and have had absolutely no sleep the night before. It can take me hours to fall asleep.

So, how long does it take you to fall asleep, or does it depend? Thought I'd add a poll to see which is more common :D

Ages. And agess. I can lay there for 2 hours+ trying to get to sleep haha. It never really depends unless I'm unwell or have done an all-nighter the night before.

I can find a way to make myself extremely tired but I won't say on the forum :L.

When I get home from work on Sunday at 6am I quite literally hit the pillow and drop off, but normally a while :(

Depends when I go to bed. I normally go quite late so I would say 10-15 minutes.

LOL the annoying thing is id have this really good idea for a story then forgot it by time ive woke up which normally means i'll spend the next night wide awake trying to retrace my thoughts to get it back :P

Michael, how dare you jump to that conclusion. But yes, LOL. Brings tiredness on much quicker. Tbqh, ... that.. also helps with migraines sometimes because it affects blood flow :L. It's amazing how useful 'it' can be.

I only jumped to that conclusion cos I sometimes do the same thing although this convo could quickly get even more disturbing so lets not go there :P

I know a handful of men who do that to get to sleep quicker as well, so I don't blame you. And yes, won't continue or I'll get asked how I know that other men do it :(.

My problem is I never feel tired until the early hours. If I tried to go to sleep early I think I would find it difficult going to sleep. However when I am tired, I drop of so easy. If I am on Skype in a convo, I can literally close my eyes and be asleep.

It'd be different each night, depending on how I am. Usually about 20 minutes or so.

hmmmm, it depends. like, i'll go through times where i find it so hard to sleep and it drives me mad, makes me more unhappy and makes it a nightmare in the mornings. i think around christmas time i had quite a hard time sleeping where it could take me 3 hrs to get to sleep and i had many sleepless nights. :P right now though i'm doing pretty well for sleep as i've just been really tired and managed to fall asleep quite quickly i guess.

if it's a normal day then it will usually take me 10 minutes whilst watching tv

read before that the average person falls asleep in 6 minutes

but for me it just depends really on how tired i am at the time of lying down, most of the time i like to watch tv/a film.
i'll put unsure i guess.

i can never really sleep before half 1-2ish lately so it really depends how late i go as to how long it takes me to fall asleep.

if i sleep before 3am or something then i won't be able to sleep

if i sleep around 4-5am then i sleep within a few minutes. Recently I've been falling asleep even while I've been on my ipod and I never do that so I'm probs dying

My sleeping pattern has been messed up since uni. Been going to bed at 4/5am for about 3 months now and I usually set my TV to turn off after 20 minutes while I fall asleep watching it.

I usually just have to lie down and close my eyes, think of something and I fall asleep. Only in special cases when I'm worried about something, I take longer.
