I get my GCSE ones in like... urm -cant do maths yet needs a b in maths omg-... omg, oh 17 days :( :(.

I really don't think I've got the grades I need (to do philosophy alone I need a B in Maths + English lang.) D;

Oh. How rude of me, Good luck with your results!!! :D

I get mine the 15th, don't really want to think about it one bit as I'm pretty sure I failed bio :'( somehow managed to study the subject the most and managed to not know anything in the exam! Mind boggling stuff there. Would really love to get a place in Uni next year so I don't have to do a course!

16th is results day for me. I'm hoping it all went well, considering I revised like ****. Saying that I should do the best in computing considering I'm pretty much the only one I know that could do the programming question.

Thanks. Yeah it is different here in Scotland instead of A-levels we have Highers and we don't get A* only A,B,C,D(which is a fail). I don't know how I've done I don't know how you guys can be so positive knowing you will have A's :P

I'm getting my results on the 20 something'th :P

Not really nervous, I'm pretty sure I've done quite well (they're only GCSEs ;)).

Already got a few module results from earlier but not the final grade (the only modular subjects I did were biology and Geography I think, rest were IGCSEs)

The only final grade I've got is A* (96% :() in Maths which I took early in November :D

Got some of my results today :D

Only got the cambridge IGCSE results but I got:

History: A*
Physics: A*
Eng Lang: A
Eng Lit: B

Slightly disappointed with english literature but I really hate english and I knew I would get a B in it anyway (or possibly scrape an A but meh). An IGCSE B is worth the same as a GCSE A though (and A with A*) so I'm still happy :D

Really happy with the history mark as I'm taking it for Pre-U but tbh I think I knew I'd get an A* as its by far my favourite subject and one of the few that I almost enjoy revising :O

Haha. With the IGCSE we literally spent the past year going through poems and short stories and it literally bored me to death. I don't mind the writing side of english (like the creative side I guess) which is maybe why I got a B in english lit and an A in language.

Ah well, I don't plan on ever doing anything english-related again so its fine!

I heard that too, but UCAS set out a Tweet earlier...

I assume they're just trying to stagger the times when people visit the site, but in reality it could be any time? I've heard some universities send out a text message at midnight too... I don't know whether to even try getting some sleep or not! :P

I remember I did poetry for GCSE English Literature and it wasn't too bad. I did it again for AS Level and found it pretty difficult throughout the year; it just so happened that on exam day, everything seemed to click into place and I ended up with an A in the exam (C in the coursework so B overall, eeeek). I prefer looking at the social side of language such as accent and dialect, and I enjoyed looking at child language acquisition too. Hopefully I'll be able to tailor a university course to fit that (if I get in)! :D

AS Results:
A - ICT
A - Maths
B - Politics
B - Economics
I'm happy with all of them really :). Well done Mathew on getting a place :D! And well done/good luck to everyone else :).
Excellent set of results, well done and thank you! :D

My overall A-Level grades are as follows:
Sociology - A*
English Language - A
Psychology - B
General Studies - A
EPQ - A

Couldn't have asked for anything more, although it's a shame everyone in the year seemed to do worse in Psychology Unit 4. I got A grades in the first three units, but a C in Unit 4... hence it brought my whole grade down to a B. Still extremely happy though! :D

Just got my AS results and I got an A in English Language, B's in Sociology and History and a C in Maths! Maths was slightly disappointing because I got an A in C1, B in C2 but an E in Mechanics so it brought my grade down. So shocked at History cause I got a D in my first module but an A in the second so it brought it up, gonna retake the first module in Jan! :D

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE!

i know I don't post here much, but deffo wanted to say well done to those who did well (I sucked at A levels). As for remarkings, they're a tricky business at A levels at most people I've known get remarks get marked down, but I guess it's worth a try.

And those who didn't feel they did so great, chin up, everything will probably end up going better than expected :)

Is this for AS or A2? If it's for A2 and you're in your chosen uni, I seriously wouldn't bother, it's just a waste of money.

2 As
5 B's
2 C's
1 D.

The As were for Religious Studies and Yr 10 Science (I believe?). The B s were English lit/Additional Science/Business/Business and Communication studies/Maths

Cs were English Language and Food Tech. The D was German.

I'm pleased that I got good grades, but I needed a B in English language (and maths but I got that) to do Philosophy in college, which is literally my dream course aha. I can't do it because I got a Cin language sigh. This means I have to drop Law as well :L.

Urgh, I wish I hadn't checked. I believe the UMS for a B in English lang this year is 210, I got 207 ;l. I hope I'm not confusing it with something else.

Wd to all others though :)

Generally like 2/3 marks at most, if I remember right, some subjects even just 1 mark, so generally for English I would think 1/2 marks for 3ums ;p may be wrong tho. If its information and ideas tho might be a little more for ir.

It's 2 marks, I checked with edexcel online.

Guess what? My mum just spoke to her friend who works at either a college or uni (I've forgot) and English Language exam this year, was the hardest it's ever been so people across England haven't been doing great in it. You're very lucky to get an A in it xD. And because 1996 was a year of low-birth rate, colleges want more people in - so if I argue my case strongly, there is a very very small chance they would let me in with a C in English lang. if I was only 2 marks off a B.

Can I ask why you're applying to get them remarked? Considering your grades, you will have easily have made it into your college/sixth form of your choice. The fact is, GCSEs don't really matter anymore after that. Once you complete A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, frankly nobody cares what GCSEs you got as long as there's 5 A*-C including Maths and English (and in some cases a Science or a Language).

It'll cost a bit of money to get them remarked, and at the end of the day - it doesn't matter. I was less than a percent off getting an A* in GCSE Maths a year early, and I was totally gutted considering Maths was my top subject, but then I moved onto A-Level and got an A in Maths a year early, and my GCSE grade didn't matter anymore. Now I'm doing Maths at University, and my A-Level grade doesn't matter anymore.

Just a bit of advice really :) You did very well :)

Really happy with mine considering I didn't think they went well.

Biology H - C
Chemistry H - C
Physics F - C (Should have really done H for this as I nearly got full marks on this test)
Science Unit A (ISAs) - A*

So that gave me an overall Science B grade, which was my target, so I'm really happy with that! :P

English Lit - B

Extremely pleased with that as my teacher did think I could only achieve a C in that.

Statistics coursework - B
Statistics exam - B

Little bit late but oh well, I got 2 A*'s (including an A-level which I did in Year 11), 6 A's, 1 B and 2 C's in French and R.E. I was really happy with the two C's actually, because I only started doing French in Y11 and its extremely tough to prepare yourself for an exam and learn a language in the space of a couple of months and for the R.E, I was entered by accident as I didn't attend any R.E lessons because I was in another lesson, but they still made me do the exam and I ended up with a C!

Very pleased if I'm honest, considering I pissed around until Y11 like most people and then worked my ass off in the last couple of months, but I did better than I expected! Well done to everyone else :)

It really was, I mean I didn't even take the exam seriously because I expected to fail... I remember one of the questions being 'Do you think women should have a role in church' or something along the lines of that and for the lulz I wrote something like 'No, because all of Jesus' disciples were men' and some other crap and still somehow ended up with a C! Shocking when you think about it really.
