Since I came back off holiday I've noticed that it takes longer and longer to get your events sorted with the panel and stuff. It's being hours before anything is actually done about it and when this happens it's usually too late.

If I'm correct I believe there are 6 people who can update the events on the panel, not including General Managers I think there's Logan, Mathew, Dj Rain/Kirsty, Jazz/Maggots, Alex/Smurfed and Amy now, not targetting anyone but some are away and some have returned yet done nothing for HxSS and looks like they just want to get fired from the role; the motivation is low and frankly if it is then either get more people able to update it or get rid of some staff it's getting ridiculous.

Some of the staff above have been away for over 3 week in the period they're allowed and nothings getting done, they've returned and again they've hardly done anything. I cancelled my event at 10 to 4 today for my event for 6, I saw at least 2 people who can update online (they might not be available that's fine) but nothing was done until after the event. I got people coming on MSN to me asking me if the event was on dbgtz; and then the DJ advertised on air, it's not my job to inform the DJ before the show telling him that the event isn't on anymore, he looked at the panel or thread most probably and went off that. I told him it wasn't on but then due to him advertising I decided to do it so people weren't waiting around for an hour.

There's been a thread about the Community Noticed Board and the concensus there was that not many look at it, if they don't look at it for the event then yes they can search Habbox, if not they could look at the panel - if the panel isn't updated they're going to be none the wiser. If it's not updated but someone else has booked an event then they're just going to be confused and be unsure where the next event is.

It's the summer holidays and people are sitting around on their arses not doing what they need to do, give me perms I'd happily do every update you want on there, it would help instead of people advertising when events are cancelled or not getting advertised because they're not on the panel.

It seems that the thread is the only form of communication at the moment, let's hope it improves after HxSS but really it should be improved now, I know at least 3 of the above are here; like I said, get more to update if needs be.

I may have waffled on but it's a feedback thread.

I'D TYPE A LONG REPLY BUT I'M BUSY

long story short

I think more people should be allowed to update it, as it's clear at the moment it's not being done enough - not the staff's fault, they can't be expected to be on all the time yknow.

While working on V7 and seeing the specific panels being created I was actually wondering If it would be better to allow Events staff to book their own events on the actual site. Obviously, make sure they know how to use it and how to book events correctly if they are new to the department.

That sounds like a really good idea and would cut out the middle man really, kind of like booking habboxlive slots in a way! :P As long as there are set guidelines for how many slots you can book in a row prebooking, then perhaps open it up should there be empty slots etc. Depends how many staff you have/the average amount of events per day really too. Same with cancelling things, this would need to be monitored and tracked to ensure people aren't abusing it. Really nice idea though I think, so long as its put into place properly and is monitored.

Well during HxSS at least all staff can book events so what happens there? I know it isn't on for long but still.

I can't really see any security risks, so unsure why it wasnt implemented originally

Well if all events staff was able to book their own events - The performance of events being added onto it for HxSS would be a lot quicker and efficient compared to the system now.

Missed this bit out - It seems the staff that you asked me about on MSN haven't been looked at and haven't even requested for extended leave from the department. The max is three weeks unless they have permission to be away for more. I think there is a bit of loop hole going on and I will create a thread about this within the staff forums and also remind the department managers of the rule.

Thank you! I think because some go away in dribs and drabs at a time, one week here a few days there they slip under the net and they think it's ok. Don't seem to realise that it all adds up, doesn't help when people hardly do anything but nothing gets done because of the manager in the department or the senior staff etc.

I've been pushing for this in the suggestion thread for awhile and I guess it's finally being noticed by other EO's as well.

I'm glad.

As I said before, there are other tasks that Senior EOs can be doing, rather than booking events.

The V7 events panel will let you add your own events and things.

I didn't actually know you couldn't do this already, seems a bit ridiculous to me.
