Ok so after timing myself i can run 200m in 22.54 seconds :)

According to google the olympic requirement time is 20.94

So if i can train myself to run 2 seconds faster i will qualify for the olympics RIO 2016 :) how awsum is that haha plus that should be fast enough to put me into finals as the 8th place mens 200m ran a time of 20.69 :)

Two seconds in the 200m is quite a lot of improvement to get, but good luck if you manage it :)

Cerys

Train everyday/week and I'm sure you'll manage it in the end!

Goodluck with it (:

To beat Bolt you're going to have to shave off more than 3 seconds...

Cerys

Also - you need a great reaction time, so you better work on that too ;P

You're saying that your reaction time is a second slower than it should be?

That's ridiculous.

2 seconds is A LOT in Olympic time really, it would be quite hard to do, good luck though!

You surely can't mean a second? I mean... just imagine it.

Ready... Take your marks... *Gun*... Everyone else goes...

You go.

If that were the 100m, you'd be leaving as everyone had already covered 11 metres...

No, but to have a reaction time of one second isn't something you improve... It's a serious issue...

I don't think people realise how slow one second is in terms of reactions...

Hm - I suppose it is pretty slow.

Maybe he was over exaggerating? I doubt he's actually timed his reaction time.

I ran for Nuneaton Harriers for about 4 years. I was an 800m specialist, I once won a county 600m race making me the 600m county champion! I never turned up for the next meet though, never was one for competitions. Have lots of medals and certificates though :)

You have to if you're going to become this serious about it. In professional sport every little element is scrutinized. Also, you'd need a lot of muscle to power your legs. Long distance and short distance physique is completely different. Two seconds is massive and it'll need so much work to even stand a chance.

Good luck nonetheless :)!

Adam
28-08-2012, 03:44 PM
2 seconds is a massive amount of time, I don't mean to **** on your dream here but you'd need to train full time to get it.

Also, you'd need to go through regionals and nationals to even be considered.

if you train full time your body won't cope. You need to work on other parts of your body and let the muscles heal themselves after pushing your body to hard. And training has died down atm due to college =/ sucks big time lol but i aint giving up that easily lol
