I'm not really enjoying this atm. Dunno why, just not. Maybe some of yous are enjoying more then me?

I hate the new series really. It's not as fun and good as the old one, and they don't show enough acts and have more advert breaks. I don't think i'm going to watch much more.

I've enjoyed it so far. More so than I did last year anyway.

Seems more manipulated and forced for this one, and too much focus on particular contestants.

I only really watch the auditions. I do like the fact that there's more songwriters on this year playing guitar etc. and they have said they want to keep them as they are but what they say and what they do are too different things - I hope they let these people do it their own way - giving advice is fine but on the show they like to change their style often too much.

I'm really enjoying it. Loving some of the guest judges too.

Melanie was incredible (the audition showed last night)

It's not what it used to be any more. I only watched the episode that Rita Ora was on because she's frogging awesome.

X Factor is really losing its spark now. I heard that there were only 8 minutes of singing in the whole episode the other day. I'm also not a fan of the 'behind the scenes' route that ITV are going with their shows, showing random shots of the producting team walking down hallways, and I'm not a fan of the random hash tags appearing all over the place.

Yeah sounds like they are trying to fit in with today's youth. I think they need to fit more entertainment in instead of the filler they have right now.

The auditions are the most exciting part of the X-Factor; seeing who is insanely good, horrifically bad and who is going to kick-off. So why ITV only show 8 minutes of singing is beyond me. We'll have plenty of time to find out about the lives of the ones who will go far when they are hunted by paparazzi so why the waste the whole show on that is beyond me.

Judges' houses are always good, at least they were last year, so I'll look forward to that.

I always get bored for the live shows, but watch the final. Don't usually care who wins unless someone really stand out.

As for voting, I've never voted for TV contests or reality TV because I think it's an absolute waste of money.

enjoying it so far but once the auditions are over I'll probably get bored of it haha, especially once the live shows come unless there's somebody who i really like

Think they're going overboard on guest judges, should just have 4 solid judges or better yet if they're going to use them, bring back X Factor contestants who were in the live shows and made something of themselves? I'd rather see someone who has been there, done that etc.

Nicole is the 4th judge :P I like the guest judges anyway, sorta keeps it fresh.

Last year, I lost interest at the audition stage and watched a few episodes of the lives. This year, I've only watched one episode. I don't really like the judges and just feel it isn't xfactor if Simon isn't there! American panel looks so good and I love Demi's and Simons banter, so I'll probably watch that.

Yes, I've been watching X-Factor :P As of tonight I'm quite interested, probably for the first time since I saw Rhydian :P (Oh, he was epic!)

Anyhow, if we're talking about the content of the show, I quite like Melanie, Jahmene and as long as they don't become another One Direction (which they most likely will), Union J.

I really disliked Christopher so I'm so glad he's gone and hope they don't return him for the wild card. I'd like Adam back for that.

I think Rylan completely overreacted when Nicole told him he was through to lives, it was annoying and he's humiliated himself in front of the nation. Score!

Chris
30-09-2012, 08:36 PM
I was quite surprised that Gary didn't put Christopher through but hopefully he'll come back through the wild card.

I didn't watch any of the auditions but I've been watching youtube videos and I am loving loads of people. I can't believe starboy nathan is on there. I have seen him perform a few times. Is it just me or are none of his performances on the xfactor site or youtube channel :S Really don't like Rylan. :-l and I hope times red get through as the wild card.

peteyt
01-10-2012, 01:19 AM
Rylan shouldn't have got through and I really like jermaine's voice although didn't think he'd get through because of his nerves. I thought Duke where great and unique, a lot better than the boy band that got in. Times red where good to and I feel if they where younger they would have been picked. Quite glad Lucy got in but not sure how she will cope in the live shows. In the video at the end her hair looks quite different to.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. I think that a lot of the time the judges hold back on what they really think when it comes to their own act. It is to be expected yeah but I think it would be easier if they didn't have their own teams and basically the judges work together. But then again the so called rivalry stuff leads to newspapers gossiping giving the show more press

yeah, i always think that too, you obviously have to save your own act, even if that means really good talent goes to waste.

So much talent this year tbh, I never really expect it. I love the girls category, James, MK1 (so sad that they are out) and weirld Rylan - I understand why it was probably rigged to keep him in, if he wasn't in there is no one else who is as bubbly and entertaining and for that reason I like him. I'd prefer him to be a presenter but as an entertainer I hope he stays in for a few weeks.

I don't really get how people can like Christopher as a singer, does anyone really think he is current enough to sell his cheese in the charts :S Times Red could have done well I reckon.

Well as someone mentioned - Gary Barlow might hate Rylan but Frankie Cocozza was just as bad and always getting defended by him. If he wasn't his mentor I'm sure Frankie would have got a lot of abuse.

I did like the fact that Gary was very honest to Kye and we saw him basically going flat note, flat note.

I think Christopher is a good example of Gary being a little two faced and as mentioned with other acts I think he'd be getting loads of criticism for his song choices and stuff if he wasn't his mentor. He actually is an okayish singer his style is just dated and I can't see him making much.

Yeah, that was nice when Gary did the flat note thing, showed he was serious about it. Also I'm sure Gary said to one of the acts that he didn't mentor, that they did really well and it was his favourite performance of the series

Lol seems they always say this or something similar.

MK1 was good but not as good as they could have been - the problem as they put was the general public wouldn't like their underground stuff but doing mainstream stuff would be a sell out. I kind of feel it wasn't the best show for them.

...the second the public decides who advances through each stage, it automatically makes it a popularity contest. all shows like x-factor are selling consumers a possible brand, rooting for certain individuals/groups and becoming embedded within the show themselves, guised as a singing contest. whomever has the ability to bring in the most ratings, money, and future endorsements will go far. those who can't, byebye. it's all about the package, the x-factor. sums up the music industry as a whole.

It could be something else however. Remember wagner - he was crap but people where voting for him not because they liked him but because they wanted a crap one to win. I remember Simon being annoyed and I was thinking well you and the other judges let him go through.

I wonder if this could be a get the crap one in to annoy them move again.

As i've said a few times there's always the chance of people voting for the worst. I remember when Simon Cowell got annoyed because some people set up a group on facebook to keep Wanger in their aim basically to get as many people to vote for him and get him to win because they knew he wouldn't sell well, so he'd be a bad winner.

I really dislike the show these days - I mean how can Gary complain about the likes of Rylan yet is all over Christopher, was the same with Frankie last year.

The problem is that bad press is still press and its the bad singers that everyone seems to talk about

#teamrylan yessssssssss. i hate the way tulisa (i think) said when kye and rylan were in the bottom 2 that "it's not just about the singing, but the entertainment too" or some crap like that, but when ella was in the bottom she goes "it's a singing competition" like wtf tulisa, and it makes me mad because it is a singing competition, acts like rylan and christopher should go on britains got talent (well, maybe not christopher) as that's for entertainment too. simon needs to sort the judges out

Surely Rylan has to go now?

geo
25-11-2012, 08:45 PM
i doubt union j got the least amount of votes, their fans are crazy and seem like the type that would be picking up the phone to vote, because they're just like a really attractive boyband and stuff, so they've got a lot of popularity. i guess this is just a way to make more people vote for them next week to show that they're ~not safe~ as it's all rigged

Stephen
25-11-2012, 08:50 PM
imo I don't think the bottom 2 are really the bottom 2

like rylan might have got the lowest votes but I think they randomly pick one of the top acts to go in the bottom 2 and then vote rylan out or let it go to the public vote knowing that rylan got the lowest votes

k that's ma fixfactor guess

yeah that's what i thought, it'll just mean union j fans will vote more and more next week for them because they think they're not safe. they probably won't put jahmene in bottom 2 at all because it'll lower confidence and crap

While it wouldn't surprise me what really annoys me is how every season people go on about it being a fix - like I remember the rumour about Diana Vickers years back, how apparently it had been discovered that she was planned to win and it was a fix, then she got out. I know they probably trick us but it seems that some people just cry fix when someone they like goes out rather than just accept it.

Also a lot of people don't vote - including myself and so it's no surprise that some get low votes, I wouldn't waste my money on a show like this unless I knew someone in it. Which also brings another point - a lot of people will try and get votes for people they know regardless of their actual talent.

@sex (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=101389)

He has an okay voice but its nothing amazing and he keeps getting bad songs to sing. In the VT's we often see Gary Barlow saying how he wants to annoy the judges, ignore their feedback and make them give more feedback, it's like he wants Christopher to be the laughing stock of the competition.

I'm sure Rylan could sell more than him.

no doubt rylan would sell more because most people these days will buy any crap that is put in front of them. but if xfactor was around in the 80's and 90's, chris would have been more respected. his voice is a little out dated but i still believe he deserves what he has achieved.

I think they've done it so Chris wins, with Nicole having 2 in the final and not losing one until last week it would be a shock if she went on to lose the show/didn't mentor the winner. Therefore, I think that's why they've done it, also without the help of X Factor Christopher I don't think would be that big or would be like Susan Boyle, only releasing albums and such near Christmas; in all honesty I would love Jahmene to win as I think he's improved so much and grown in confidence and talent throughout the show. I didn't really like James to begin with until he sang Sexy and I know it but I wouldn't mind if he won either as I think all 3 (or at least 2) will go on to release albums catered to different genres.

Its fact that they cant fix it, because it all gets checked. same with any comp show and comp on the tv.

ofcom would look into any misconduct (especially since they get thousands of complaints anyway, so its not like they're unaware of the circulating rumours). however, all reality tv shows dramatise, exaggerate & stage scenes for the entertainment factor (and especially through editing). even to the point of sending out fake press releases regarding certain acts to taint their image, or to improve it. all of this can affect the publics perception on a given act, and most definitely can influence voting habits. but no, the x-factor wouldn't ask the public to vote, and then disregard it and do whatever they want. that's far too damaging for the studio, producers & advertisers.

Fastest selling isnt really a big achievement as more and more people buy digitally each year, it all depends on first week sales. If i recall correctly i think 400,000 was near the top for x factor winners, i dont think he will get that high, i will have to find the list. I dont think he will do very well personally. Probably middle of the pack.

---------- Post added 11-12-2012 at 01:37 PM ----------

Actually, im way off, 742000 sales are needed for him to be the most successful x factor debut, hes only at 169000. Also the fact that it is a charity single is also slightly biased towards sales, so his total sales will be slightly inflated.

they mean within the first day of selling.

Yes, but it isn't a big achievement considering the next X-Factor winner will likely be the biggest seller since more and more people download now rather than buying physical copies. A true measure is whether or not he can sunstain the sales, not just first day sales. And as I've already said, James' sales are unfairly inflated because it's a charity single.
