The Taliban have described Prince Harry as "a high value target", saying they will "make their best efforts to arrest or kill" him.

The 27-year-old Army captain arrived in Afghanistan for his second tour of duty on Friday. Now a fully-qualified Apache helicopter pilot, Captain Wales, as he is known in the Army, will be flying in support of coalition forces on the ground.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said on Sunday: "Whoever is fighting in our country alongside the US is our enemy and we will attack him."
Prince Harry came to Afghanistan and he is a high value target for us. We will try to arrest him."Because he is an Apache helicopter pilot, he will target us more. If we are not able to arrest him we will target him."
The Taliban will make their best efforts to arrest or kill Prince Harry," he added.
It is four-and-a-half years since the Prince's first tour of duty, which had to be cut short when foreign media blew his cover.
He was due to complete training courses this week in first aid, shooting and improvised explosive device (IED) awareness, before starting his Apache-specific preparation.
During this phase of training, which starts on Monday, he will climb into the cockpit and begin to familiarise himself with the way the deadly aircraft is configured for the country.
He will not be sent out to take on the Taliban for at least another seven days.
Very much expected but rather upsetting.

The Apache helicopter will kill them before they have a chance to.

I'm sure the Soviets had the same attitude and said the same of the Taliban with their own brand of helicopters back in the 1970s and 1980s.

Turns out in 2012, the Soviets are no more and the Taliban remain.

Russia has never really been that good at having a safe record in the aviation business. But facepalm either way!

I think he's in safe hands, I don't think they'll let anyone get a shot at him. Even though he should be as equal as everyone else, but that will never happen.

It's not like he is on foot patrol here, he is flying in the skies in an helicopter that is quite safe.

You're comparing a Soviet aircraft to a Boeing aircraft?

Did you even bother researching the Apache before making those comments? 14 total losses in Afghanistan, only 1 of those British and NONE of them to enemy fire!

No, i'm comparing the attitude that we can blast the Taliban away with our superior equipment as misguided as the Soviet attitude back in the 1970s and 1980s.

I don't comment on Boeing vs Airbus vs BAE Systems vs (whoever else) matters or designs and never ever have done, nice try though.

My post wasn't actually full on serious but the chances of anything happening to him is low because of what he does in the army.

To summarise: If Harry is killed our Afghan friends will be receiving some pleasant "air mail" soon. #TEAM GB

I hope no harm comes to him, I like Prince Harry. He did graduate as a 'Top Gun', so they have more to fear.
