This is Andy. He’s scared about moving up to secondary school, as none of his friends are going to the same school, he won’t know anyone, and he might get lost.
What advice could you give Andy to make him feel better about his first day?

Don't stress out, it will be hard at first but you will manage
Don't procrastinate
Do get involved
Do keep your old friends, but try to make some new ones too
Don't skip class
Do try your best because that is all you can do
Don't pick on substitute teachers
Don't give in to peer pressure
Do be yourself
Don't listen to the drama
Do your homework
Do play sports
Do stay in school
Don't let nasty people get you down
And don't forget to have fun!

First of all don't worry, be yourself and you'll find that you'll fit right in. There's a group of friends out there for everyone.
Make sure you do your homework - it's not too cool to try and act all hard, and you'll only end up paying for it when you start to lose grades that you should be getting.
Get involved in extra curricular activities - if your into sports then they'll no doubt be football teams, gymnastics, swimming ect.
If your..not so interested in sports - don't fret - there's always something out there for everyone. Perhaps your into reading, debating - ect, if so, you should try getting involved in them activities, not only will you then be doing something you love, but also meeting people along the way who shares the same interests as you.
Then of course there's the ''groups'' in highschool. Don't beat yourself up over them. There's always going to be a group of popular people - whether you fit in with them or not - it doesn't matter. Don't change yourself to fit in with others, be yourself and let people like you for who you are.
You should always try your best in school - trust me, it'll pay off. Working hard will get you a good job, into uni. Messing around won't. If you do your best - teachers and your family will be proud of you, for doing your actual best - and not only that - but you could be proud of you - for accomplishing all you can do.

Don't be yourself but try and fit in. No one's normal so everyone acts the same way around school. I suggest you do that too.

be yourself and don't try to be cool or act popular

try to make friends with people who have something in common with you, so you have something to discuss about.

School is where you learn to become a grown man, like your father. This first day, just do your best. Instead of thinking how badly you want to go home, think about what you can do to make yourself want to be here, in school. You'll realize that as soon as you make friends, you'll want to come back every day just to be with them. Yes, because the best thing about school are your friends. You remember how it was with your old friends, I'm sure. And don't be sad about not being in the same school. I'm sure you'll see each other many other times during weekends, and maybe your new friends could come too. So you'll have twice as many friends. Isn't it great?
With your friends, you'll not only have a great time playing and laughing, but you'll also learn with them, because you learn something from everyone you meet. And that's the greatest lesson you'll have for your future.
School CAN be fun. Mainly with your age. You'll learn while have a good time. You've seen what's in your books. It's easy, you can do it. One thing though, always pay attention in classes. Even if your friends want to keep playing while you should be learning, you need to ignore them. If they don't understand it, it's not your fault.
You're young, you have your all life in front of you, so don't forget about that. Having fun is important, but being intelligent is as well. You're probably too young to understand this now, so there isn't much I can tell you that you'll remember, but soon you'll understand every single of these words.
I hope you have a great first day. And if today it doesn't work out, there is always tomorrow. Good luck.
