Hiya,

basically a girl I know is selling an almost brand new iphone 4 for 150 quid, and I asked her about it

it then transpired that she's actually selling it 'for a friend'

I don't 100% trust this girl to be genuine, and she seems pretty keen to get it off here hands asap

so is there anyway I can sort of check that's it's not; a) stolen, and b) works?
also is 150 quid decent for a almost new iphone 4?
would I be better going through an official channel?

It is not foolproof but you can use a service such as:

if it is stolen, the original owner can/should/may contact their network provider to get the phone permanently blocked. i personally wouldn't bother, especially if the original owner reports it to apple, and then you take it there because of whatever issue with the phone that may arise (dunno if you can report theft to apple themselves, but hey it sounds right in my head lmao).

you can probably buy a (used) iphone 4 off ebay for £200-something quid, which would be a better option tbf
