Is there a way to separate the both? It's so annoying when your youtube account is on one email and your personal email is on another, I could merge them but I prefer to keep things separate. Is there a way to disable gmail and youtube working side by side 'cause it's so annoying having to sign out and sign in.

last time i looked into it there wasn't, pretty annoying. i used to be able to sign out of google and stay logged in youtube but apparently they changed it to be inconvenient

YouTube switched to using your Google account a while ago

Since they're both google accounts you can only be logged into one at a time. I guess you could use a different brower.

But if both emails are linked, if one was to be hacked wouldn't the other one too?

Maybe, I've never used multiple accounts before. Could just add additional security steps in you are worried about that.

Use a stronger and unique password. (In all likelyhood if one account is compromised then both will be regardless of whether they're linked or not).
