The shortest recorded yellow lines in the UK are in a street in Norwich and measure 17 inches.
Half tempted to go for a hunt for those.
There is one near me that is like a metre long!

I can sort of see the point, Canterbury Council has two types of parking permit and this must of been the only way to seperate the different parking zones. When I'm back in Canterbury I might go on the look out for the yellow lines just for the sake of knowing why it exists as the picture and text do not really give much away.
