Online List? (could be just me)

I don't know if this is a bug or me being an idiot or something else haha.

Basically I've noticed the past few days that people are 'online' on the online list, yet when you visit their profile their last activity was hours ago and in some cases even the day before.

Ive noticed it with Skynus, Goldenmerc and MrWooooooooo lately, it says they are online but when hovering over their name in the 24 hours list, or visiting their profile, they arent actually online so the online list is lying and showing more people online than are actually online? :P idk

Skynus's was doing it the other night but I thought I was just losing the plot or something, but just noticed it with goldenmerc and mrwoooooooooooooooooooooo (idk how many o's he has) now and he wasnt even online since yesterday but is online according to the list xD


Seems to be happening at random times too and with random people if that helps haha, then after a while they do disappear off the online list but sometimes come back!

I was going to say it would be related to them being invisible but that doesn't seem to be the case. As they have that turned off at the moment, I can't see it being the default session cut-out time as that's not been changed. Will have to look around!

Not sure if it's related but came across my mind while looking at other options. Can you list the name of people you've seen it happen to? I'm wondering if they use forum applications such as tapatalk and it's keeping them logged in. Martin;

The mobile thing does sound like it could be the most likely cause, although its strange that it doesnt pick them up as being online on their profiles but does on the online list and the times are all different xD very strange indeed :O

I go on my mobile a fair bit and somehow members always know to VM me as soon as I'm online, not sure if this is because I'm on the last 24 hour thing or displayed as online?

Anyhow, I haven't seen this happen, so does it display as online all the time or for a short period?

Happening with skynus at this very moment,

also noted that both goldenmerc and mrwooooooooo are both using tapatalk at the moment, so I have a feeling its tapatalk thats causing the problem

I looked at runeaddict99;'s thread on The Book Club and it told me he had posted at 1:05am, I went on his page and it said he was last active at 1:07am, I thought it didn't display you as offline until half hour later?

The time out is 20 minutes. But if users are appearing on the "Currently Active Users" for longer periods of time. Example: User posted at 9am ---> Time is now 3pm but still says the last activity of them was 9am while appearing on the list.
