[QUESTION] How do you repair a Bow with an Anvil?

Firstly I love the anvil, I just merged amazing enchantments on creative to test them out :P

I have an amazing bow and I tried to repair it with both string and sticks and neither worked. I wore down the bow so it isn't of full health and it still didn't work.

Na as above said, you can't repair bows on an anvil :P :P

Omg that really sucks, my bow is my favourite item :( I read on some sites that you could repair it with string so it got my hopes up. I guess I'll have to wing it with an amazing sword.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but it's the top Google result when searching for repairing bows with an anvil.

To repair your enchanted bow, combine it with an unenchanted one in an anvil to get the cheapest repair cost.
