Just announced today that the Evolution of Combat update, which has been in BETA for over 5 months, is OFFICALLY being released on November 20th. For more info check his link:

Ffs rly pissed about this, wanted to get 92/93 slay and do some ganos trips first ;l now also maxing cb be a nightmare. Killing dung at same time was bad move on their part too :(

I am planning to save myself from doing any quests that i can currently do until after the combat update happens.

The combat system is changing so it is your highest stat out of Attack/Strength/Range/Mage + Defence Level + 2 for your new combat level.

And no, not happy :(

My combat lvl is going up, i'll be lvl 169 after the combat update goes live.

my combat level's going up too, also not sure what everyones problem with it is. sounds pretty decent.

It just looks... rubbish. It's like habbo changing everything which doesn't need to be changed. Hopefully rs won't be changing everything over and over again though

I honestly dont mind ill be 70 + 65 + 2 = 137

But by then higher because i should be 85 str atleast

players will start off at combat level 4, and the maximum combat level is 200

Yeah to be maxed out you only need like max def and max str, att, range, magic lol pretty dumb.

i guess summoning isnt going to count towards combat lvl now lol

On the Evolution of Combat Beta, blue dragonhide armor is a F2P Range armor

It is possible to wield two one-handed weapons of different styles (such as a one-handed sword and a one-handed crossbow) - does that mean you can lvl like str and range at same time? lol

Yeah would be good if you could do that or def and range at the same time lol do it till 99 on both.. and you will be maxed out LOL

Everyones combat levels will go up, I'm already at 200. I don't see why people are thinking that combat levels going up is a good thing? You won't be any more powerful, and with the EoC, all monsters combat levels go up and everywhere is multicombat and if you aren't wearing armour a few level 40 monsters can kill you as you run through an area.

EoC is awful, but I'll have 99 Slayer, Defence and Strength then, only leaving Dungeoneering as my only non-maxed skill that relies on combat...

So if summoning doesn't count towards your cb level... ima start working on my summoning tank again.... just get 75 def and like 76 summoning and i'll destroy everyone my level.

But what is the point fighting level 77 combat people (that will have around 38 defence/attack/strength...) Free adamant armour?

It's not AFKable, thats the main turn off. I'd rather have it AFKable then click (well, hotkey) intensive and slightly more XP.

I remember reading that Slayer XP has had to be boosted because theres less kills/hour, so melee XP has to be boosted to even keep it equal to current XP rates.

Ahhh that's a shame. To be honest though Runescape have been making skills quicker and easier, maybe this is combats (quicker and easier)

Quick question, when released on the 20th will I have to go through all the 'blood pact' quest thing and all that again?

The only thing I can think about with this update is what's wrong with runescape now :S

If that's the new quest update of the blood pact then yes... they're redoing a lot of old quest atm. If it's not an old quest then no I doubt it.

EoC just changes the combat, nothing else really changes in Runescape.. hence why items are crashing and some items like arcanes, ragefires are jumping up in price

Actually, it is AFKable but you'll be getting around the same xp as you do now, not more that you could get with actually playing the game.

Momentum ability. Might want to have a look.

You shouldn't have to re-do any quests because of EoC.

And the current combat system limits future updates - there's no where else to go.

Momentum didnt give the same XP rates as current methods, but I've just read that Momentum will now activate basic abilities every 20-30 seconds, so this might bring the XP rates back-up.

I didn't say it made it easier.. but because you hit more now maybe the xp rate will be higher :)

And you have to choose between key mashing or using 'Momentum', I'd prefer neither...

20 mins of momentum, well that should be enough to get most of a dung done but would changing styles muck it up? rather choose neither tho as kardan said ;p

The only difference between combat now and momentum is that you have to click one extra button every 20 minutes.
If it's between that and not having any decent new bosses and armour - I'd choose the new combat system every day of the week.
