o/
I've had the disk for world of warcraft for ages, but never got round to actually trying it out.
Is it worth me actually installing it - is it good? If I understand correctly, it costs to play, right?

It costs approx £8 a month to play (less if you pay it in a bulk month, think I'm paying £46 per 6 months atm)
and on top of that the disks (think its like £5 for orig + tbc, £10 for wotlk, £20 for cata, £30 for mop, although you dont have to buy them all at once, just when you get to level cap)
I'd recommend it I played it for a year and a bit and was good

Its good, but if you want to play something 'like' it I would recommend SWTOR, From Novemeber 15th its free to play.
WoW is good, but I just think for the price...its...meh.

It's letting me on for free atm - Must be some sort of trial.
It's fairly good.. but just gets a bit boring/repetitive imo. Idk if thats because I'm a 'low level' so I haven't seen every aspect of the game yet?

I played it for years. Was addicted to it :P It definitely is better when you're higher level and you get to know people on it or have friends to play with.

This is the only reason i have never continued to play it.
I love the idea of WoW i even got boosted to 80 with the resurrection scroll. But if you don't know anyone else who plays, it is boring as hell. Running around on your own for hours can get pretty lonely :(
I have tried to play a handfull of times i last a month or two then i give up because i'm lonely :'(

Should try to get involved in guilds and go to a server that's mainly compromised of people from your country, I remember playing on some swedish server and it sucked but when I went to one known for its big UK population I made many close friends in a UK guild

Yes that is true. But until you become a higher level and have good understanding of the game getting a good friendly guild is blah. Doesn't help I don't play many hours and also I am now in Canada but I have European account cos that's where I am from and was when I originally made my account.
I really do recommend this game

Don't bother, it's crap now. Find a different game/games. You'll have to pay for all of the expansions and foot a ridiculous monthly fee.

when has that ever changed, lol.
You've always had to pay out for monthly fee (not ridiculous, like £8..) and for each expansion (like every other game, you need to buy expansions/dlc..)

Instead of posting a useless opinion, if you believe theres much better f2p games out there, name them.

Where to start... Runescape, League of Legends - Day Z is better even though it's not free, it's a lot cheaper. Hundreds. Google them yourself.

lol runescape.
Day Z? That's like comparing CoD to runescape...
WoW is worth the money, you'll enjoy it for at least a year, the subscription is like £8 a month which is nothing really.
If you enjoy the trial, buy it :)

Got it a while back (;
Didn't think this thread would still be alive tbh.
But yeah, Idm about the monthly fee. It's better than some fee's.
+ I got something called the battlechest for £5 as I assume it was on offer. Enjoying it so far, but you do level up a bit too quickly :l

most content is end level so that's good, no-one likes levelling :P
Yeah battlechest is the original WoW + TBC which lets you level up to 70
Wrath of the lich king = lvl 80, cataclysm = 85, mists of pandaria = 90.

As far as I'm aware the battle chest now contains Wrath of the lich king.
Costs me £7.93 a month (Gone down from 7.99 :D) and I've spent 2 years playing it and haven't got bored. Plus runescapes new update and the users discontent with it means it's a dying game & WoW will be the only decent MMORPG out there seeing as Star trek, Lotro, Star wars all bombed and went F2P
If you want, send me a PM and I'll throw you a RAF invite & I'll give you 5k
costs me £2 a month LOL
but its via stolen cc's i dont steal them, i pay someone to use them on my account.

wrong, blizzard just remove it.. if you get caught no bans nothing lol. people that get caught are the ones that buy 6 months or more a time. i dont.

The link was for the actual games, if you were still looking for them haha. Yeah its like Scott said, the pets are just cosmetic/used for the battle system quite expensive really, there's plenty of pets to catch in the game already!

Ahh right.
Thanks c:
play Rift instead - The graphics are better, it's more fun and you don't have the raging 13 year olds on there!!!

never really liked WoW, but others have their own opinion
Not sure if I replied to this thread before, but Try both Rift and WOW, I'm pretty sure you will 100% prefer Rift due to better graphics, nicer gameplay... and the community is A LOT more mature.
Edit. Awks I did already reply to this... -slowly crawls away-
