Ok so I was like thinking what way to build a decent nice house, then I immediently thought omg a container is like tiny but if you rip out the walls you could ad one beside it and make a room lol ;)
So starte googling this all and turns out people have made some really nice and amazing houses from containers, it's ununreal plus it's soooo cheap ;) according to google one 40x8 ft container is about £1500 ;) an to build one floor you could use like 2 haha ;)
would anyone else ever think about it???

My 6th forms gym hall was made out of shipping containers!
I would if i have a land to place the containers :P I've seen them on magazines and the fact that it's eco-friendly and you can make the home you've always wanted is amazing.
wow thats such a cool idea, aww

ive already thought of that ;) theres special heaters you can get which are quite cheap aswell and you can put insulation or something inbetween the metal and the walls depending if your going to cover it up lol

Since the earthquake here in Christchurch normal buildings couldn't be built as the aftershocks would just kill them so the shopping centre in the city center is made entirely of multicoloured containers like this, I haven't visited it but it looks really cool :P

Those all look pretty damn awesome, my family was thinking about getting a few and throwing them in the back paddock and making a room or so outta them, but never did 'cause we couldn't afford it at the time:( aha, but it's definitely a great idea. I say if you can afford it, why the hell not? xP

I think they look bloody awful like most modern buildings do, but whatever floats your boat.
Hmm.. some interesting ideas but I can't help but think of Ikea when I look at them.. and I'm sure they're pretty darn cold and the rain must make such a racket. I'll stick to my house thx

oh my ******* god can you please stop winking at every full stop position
Your house would be poorly insulated so this would only work in warm countries

or you could just get insulation... i.e. have an inner wall so it's not just bare metal

I personally think they look quite ugly and would prefer something more traditional.

Look really cool, Imagine most of those modern types cost upwards of £80,000 to the people saying get insulation etc, thats another good £20,000, Plus what are you insulating without heat?
