Hi, so my new laptop arrived today from Amazon. The first thing I notice, a dead pixel at the bottom of the screen... scottish; says I'm not entitled to an exchange or anything because apparently there's a minimum of 17 dead pixels for an exchange? However Amazon have always been good for me when it comes to refunds and exchanges? What would you suggest? I've emailed them about the issue anyways.

I know it's not THAT much of a big deal, but considering it's brand new and I've just noticed it... Well it's IRRITATING.

Take a photo - Not that it will help but I want to see it. I don't believe they will replace it for you or anything like that due to it only being one pixel - I mean you could always contact them. It wouldn't hurt in asking at all.

Cant really see in a pic it's basically just at the bottom near the taskbar. An annoying little green dot... EURG not having this!

Didn't say you're not entitled, said it depends on manufacturer

Pretty sure most manufacturers allow 3-4 dead pixels before accepting it as faulty, and based on HP:

But as you just got it they probably will replace it for you, never had to deal with dead pixels so no idea.

What's not to understand about the table?! :p

4 dead pixels spread out, or 3 clustered = required amount before

You got it today? Since you ordered online you have the legal right to be able to return it within 7 working days for a full refund (even if it is opened and you've used it already).

Could I not just get an exchange?

That is up to Amazon, assuming that the laptop does not fall under whatever their dead pixel policy is then they don't have to give you a replacement. However, they do have to give you a refund if you request it.
