View Full Version : MODs in the hotel are not outsourced

Before, me and everyone else on here though that all the moderators were outsourced to Concentrix. I have just found out that it turns out that not all the mods are outsourced. It turns out that they are part outsourced, and the ones that we are seeing around the hotel (MOD-Stum, MOD-Choremet, MOD-Yksaw, MOD-Asnial e.t.c) are employed by Sulake.
So it seems that the outsourced mods just handle call for helps through a web control panel, probably housekeeping.
The evidence is, firstly, Paul tweated about it https://twitter.com/PaulwallaTweets/status/270791188913733632
Secondly on LinkedIn there is someone with the role of "Senior Manager, user care/ community manager" (http://es.linkedin.com/pub/raquel-alvarez/31/393/196) and on her roles it lists one of them as "Manage the daily operations of the in-house and remote customer service and moderation staff with given budgets."
Another thing that I found out that I didn't know before, was that this staff member also stated on their roles that they check the moderator's shift reports to look for pedophilia behavior, I though that the Mods just ban users then they are not monitored. But it seems she flags up suspicious behavior and also adds things to the wordfilter depending on what previous bans have been handed out.
You might think this thread is pointless, but I was just clearing something up.

Isn't a pointless thread by the way. It's nice to know that the staff you see in the hotel are actual Sulake staff.

So where does Concentrix come into this then? :P

Well, it seems that moderation is part outsourced. I guess Concentrix just monitor some of the chatlogs and the call for helps on a web based panel. A few months ago before we started seeing mods around the hotel and before the C4 report, Paul replied to someone's question on twitter saying that mods moderate from out of the hotel.

To be honest it's nice to know that Sulake are picky with who they allow to interact with the community. I disagree with mods being outsourced all together if I'm honest, but it's not a perfect world! :P

Of course they're Sulake staff. All moderators are employed by Sulake, but they're employed in some 3rd world country to keep costs down.
Sulake have always hired Moderators, just recently they got rid of those which are based in countries like US/UK/CA because they're more expensive than Singapore and India.
You just repeated what most people already knew.

Singapore is not 3rd world... It simply has no minimum wage. Although people within SG can and very often do work better than US/UK/CA. Always hated people saying this.
Also, they need at least some presence.

No, many people thought that all of them were outsourced to Concentrix.

Actually yeah, it seems that the Sulake Mods are actually based in the Sulake Netherlands office. I don't think they are in the Madrid User Care office.
On LinkedIn the "Community Coordinator" http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=58257169&pid=63340825&authType=name&authToken=k5Xv&trk=pbmap
States "Head of Moderation and Player Support teams based in The Netherlands and Costa Rica" people thought that the moderators were working in a Costa Rica office, but outsourced to Concentrix. But it seems Sulake moderators work in the Netherlands.

I'm really confused by this now, the puhekupela page with sulake staff on it, next to the staff names you can hover over "..." and it will tell you the company they are from. It states that the Habbo.com moderators are outsourced to Concentrix in Costa Rica, which quite a lot of people believed. I stopped believing it but now I'm starting to think it's true again. The weird thing is that the page says that the customer service staff are also outsourced to Concentrix. However, I thought they were based at the Sulake Madrid office like many people thought, that's what Paul said also.
It also goes against what the LinkedIn profiles in the posts above says. A really weird thing is that it says habbo.fr mods are outsourced to a company, which I googled and it came up with a LinkedIn profile, but the persons profile said they moderated habbo.fr and HABBO.CO.UK!
What do you think is going on?

We from puhekupla are 100% sure of what we know about the Costa Ricans. Most Customer Service is now done via Costa Rica, and most Moderation too. We have pages and pages of 'evidence'.
