thats a pretty cool idea, although it looks like it can only fit one can in it? :O I guess going to the fridge would be just as quick :P

I imagine it'd take upwards of 8 hours to chill a single drink, not only will it be poorly insulated but there isn't all that much juice you can push down a USB cable.

yeah this is true! by the time the 8 hours is up I could have walked into the kitchen and gotten a can like 200000 times :(

60*60*8 = 28800 Seconds
200000/28800 = 6.94 Cans per second.

Martin, I'm impressed.

I do get through quite a few cans of coca cola a day :$

I may buy this as a christmas present for someone! I don't want one myself though :(

I'd also have more important things to do if I had the ability to retrieve 6.94 cans per second from a kitchen.

Please tell me, how do you counter the effects of special relativity as you accelerate to speed?

OH MA GOD, I WAS USING A RANDOM FIGURE, NOT A PRECISE MEASUREMENT, DON'T GO ALL TECHNIGEEK ON ME :'(

I just meant that I could get a LOT of cans out the fridge by the time that little thing had cooled a can down!!

it takes ~5hr to cool to 8°c i believe

and usb has like 5v max power lol

The voltage is mostly irrelevant, the wattage is what is important.

scottish
24-11-2012, 12:26 AM
in that case it'd be 0.9x5 so 4.5watts i believe

---------- Post added 24-11-2012 at 12:27 AM ----------

well 2.5-4.5

most stuff are ~500mA

Chippiewill
24-11-2012, 12:29 AM
Could ram it open next to a fan intake on a computer for additional cooling.

But yeah. 4.5W ain't gonna do much.

It's not meant to be taken seriously, if anything it's more of a novelty thing.

if i didn't have a near-fetish for really useful boxes i'd be all over these.

p.s. that can cooler, surely it can't work that well. it's not worth 14 quid!! I don't even like cold fizzy drinks :/

Normally stuff like this will break down in a short time if you use them too frequent

especially those from China

Aw, I think it'd be cute to have it, but then you wouldn't be able to put it back in there if you opened up the can.
