This weekend we’re testing another feature which came highly requested on User Voice – offline messaging. This feature allows you to message offline friends, provided that they have a VIP membership. Just open your friend list, find an offline friend who displays the chat bubble icon next to their name and send them a message. They’ll receive a chat notification with the message once they login.

NOTE: The VIP requirement allows us to manage load and prevent lag. Once we understand the demand on this feature we can asses the possibility of expansion.

The pilot is starting in .COM hotel and if all goes well we’ll expand to other hotels soon. We hope you enjoy this new feature!

That is from the Habbo blog... ohh and this: http://habbox.com/#!/News/article/1580

Yeah, I read this in habbox. Comment:
I have the feeling this will be so annoying and so soon. xD
But if you have the right people in your friend list, it might just be really useful. Lol.

Well, this seems like a good thing, because I cannot seem to use the Minimail feature anymore. Idk if its just me though, anyone else with that problem?

Also, I am guessing you have to be VIP to send the messages.

Have they disabled minimail for this? ;/ I do not use the console ever, because I have over 1000 friends and get a lot of spam.

The MiniMail feature was disabled during The Great Unmute that occurred in June; various parts have come back to be able to communicate such as chatting, Stickies and such but sadly MiniMails, Guestbooks and so on are still not in use. Although, Habbo send MiniMails themselves but it's probably just the fact they can't moderate them effectively yet.

I think this is an ok feature, I thought this was meant to come a while back though; I don't see how being VIP has anything to do with it because really a lot of people have VIP. What Habbo should now do is change the VIP features list, remove the free MarketPlace Ads and replace them saying you can now send offline messages etc.

Red! No wonder you never answer my love notes. ;_;

Can't hurt I guess? Why not just bring back MiniMail :P.

I prefer this over minimail because then i can randomly start a chat with mdport.; who hides his online and stalk status so i always have to ask his brother to see if his online lol

Offline messanger! Wow, a feature they introduced right at the beginning of Habbo and took away, and are now only providing it for VIPs...

It works out better for some people I guess, but I get enough pointless messages when I'm online. I don't need them when I'm offline as well. :l
