Recently I have been following Rylan Clark on twitter and I noticed that he posted a picture of him wearing a shirt that said 'I'm gay get over it!' Straight away this caught my attention. I also seen that people on facebook and twitter were calling him 'A gay so and so who can't sing'. First of all, fair enough you are allowed your opinion but why should you have to pick out that he is gay? SO WHAT. You wouldn't write a status about someone straight like 'This straight man can not sing at all' so what makes Rylan any different? He likes men? BIG DEAL.

Also, I have realised a lot of things, being Gay/Bi/Straight is not a choice and there is nothing wrong with it, the gender we like does not define who we are as a person, I don't see why people get offended when others call them names to do with their sexuality because THAT IS WHAT WE ARE! You don't see straight people getting bullied so why should gay/bi-sexual people be bullied.

I'm a girl, we all know that and can see that, I have blue eyes, long hair etc but nobody comes up to me to remind me of those things so why should they have to remind us day in and day out that we like the same gender?

Why should we have to 'come out'? Straight people don't run around shouting 'I'm straight!' and we shouldn't have to run around shouting 'I'm gay!' It's ridiculous, we are normal people just like everybody else.

The last thing I want to say is for those who are still hiding their sexuality. You don't need to tell anybody what gender you like because its none of their business, you tell who you want to tell and they will understand you, if people try to call you names about it then just say so what? We are who we are, the gender we like does not change how we act.

Thanks so much for reading I just wanted to make people feel a bit more aware and I would like to say that I am Bisexual GET OVER IT!! (Share your stories too)

ah you're probably just going through a phase

the only way to beat homophobia/racist/sexism/anyism is to stop talking about it

No hun, im not going through a phase, and we can't stop talking about it when others are still finding a way to hurt others because of it.

how is your little movement going to stop people being bullied for being different then?

why do you have to be so negative? I'm just trying to get people to realise that its NOT different! And that we are gay SO WHAT

but you're just bringing it up again, you're essentially just reminding people that some people are gay which is different from the norm, your movement doesnt do any good for anybody, if everyone just stopped making such a big deal about it nobody would care

this video applies to everything that seperates us

I think the people who can't accept others for who they are, have something to hide themselves. I totally agree with what Jen said, it doesn't concern other people.

@futz I'm not having a debate over it, this is my opinion and what others are feeling. I'm not reminding anyone of anything because every saturday and sunday I see a million statuses about Rylan being gay

This. And the video you later posted is exactly what I was thinking of. I mean in this country, it's not really a massive deal as such. I see it as if someone is being bullied because they are gay, it's no longer any different then someone being bullied for any other reason and half the time the word "bullied" is usually applied to the smallest of incidents.

To the OP, if "straight" people were a minority, you can guarantee they would have been discriminated as homosexual people have been in the past.

This thread doesn't make any sense what so ever. Of course people are going to pick out that Rylan is gay like someone mentioned, it's not the norm. I sort of see where you're coming from but then again I don't, I'm gay yet just leave it for people to figure out (which the majority of the time people do). I don't like it when people say "Am gay and am proud" REALLY? What is there to be proud of...

I am gay and I also dislike people that claim to be gay and proud. It makes me sick when people are so flamboyant about their sexuality; they use it as a way to gain attention and be different. I am fine with being gay, but I'm not proud. I think it'd be a lot easier if I wasn't gay, but I am, and I accept it without feeling sorry for myself.

Also, I understand people pointing out how gay Rylan is - he's very feminine.

Telling people not to go around telling other people about your sexuality and yet you made a thread about it
