ok i know this has probably been bought up loads but im bringing it up again. WHY arent we allowed bigger avatars? i dont understand. they all look so ugly cos they're so small where as if u look at like hffm forums they are allowed bigger ones which look rly nice

what is the actual reason for not being allowed them? is there a reason for it actually?

also who agrees we should be allowed bigger avatars? vote ^^^

I think that the main reason why massive avatars aren't allowed is that it makes threads look ugly and quite disorganized For example if someone had a massive avatar they would have a postbit that was massive also, and I personally think that uneven postbits look really ugly :P (especially as shown above). Slightly larger avatars wouldn't be a problem in my opinion, but some people would decide to have a massive avatar and completely mess up the system in my opinion :P.

I think the whole debate about the post style should be done in a poll so we can see what everyone thinks about it. Because if we want bigger avatars than it would only work on the left post style and that would mean getting rid of the "top" post style altogether.

Well we would because the bigger avatars would then look stupid on the other post bit style. Hence why we haven't upped the avatars. So it's a case of keeping both post styles or bigger avatars.

He isnt really in the minority as the poll shows quite an even spread of opinion. I also don't see the problem with it now and feel it would make the forum look even worse with bigger avatars as well as massive signatures.

I've voted no because I think the maximum size of 150x150 is big enough and don't see why anyone needs an avatar bigger than that :P. As for postbit style, I use left and the width of 150 looks fine and is the same width as the info below it - the 200 width posted by Matt makes the avatar look too big and wide, and just out of place imo, especially when on smaller screens e.g. Tablets. Basically, I think it's fine as it is :P.

I think some of them look really nice, but again, I think 150x150 is big enough. If they were increased, then maybe a slight increase but if it gets too bit then it'll just look horrible imo. As for features to get people posting, I personally don't think that increasing the avatar sizes is going to cause people to post more, if that's what you're saying? I think the fact that higher levels are allowed larger sizes is already enough to do that, e.g. Platinum has 150x150, but gold has 110x110(something like that).

I don't mention the fansite names. I just know the owners are friends with people who are able to create forum skins and layouts for them when they ask. Habbox doesn't have that and hasn't for a long time. There could be people yes but there isn't on HxF :P

I guess that's an option, but then it'd look ugly on the screens for the people who have chosen to resize them, if everyone was to use their maximum size limit. However, if the limit was increased, then your suggestion of an option for resizing could be a good idea.

I've constrained every avatar for my use to 90x90 max for the past few hours and I haven't seen any issues so far.

If you know any vbulletin designers (even if they charge) then give me the details. Don't just give me names or profile links to people who haven't been on for months as that doesn't really help.

That would be Jamesy and Jamesy (I think). (In his defence Jamesy's NH Dark is about 100 times better than the previous NH dark)

That's silly, I can only think that'll be a small minority. The majority love things such as the site skin and the non-habbo light. Those skins are no worse, even better than the dojo. But that'll all be subjective depending on whoever's taste :P.

Have you looked into the settings to see if it even has a setting? There's one for me but I use a different version to people on iPhone/Android.

but no srsly why can't we just increase it if ppl dont want a big avatar they dont have to, couldnt you have it so ppl who choose not to it automatically resizes the big avatars? if that makes sense?

I don’t really have an opinion, size of avatars and signatures are of no importance to me, but I can appreciate it may be for others. Some things are best left to management, since they have to manage it.
