I'm still not sure what I am actually doing with it really. Whether we are deleting reputation or putting it back. If we aren't putting it back then I can easily go into the database and sort out the notification issue out.

I'm not deleting them but you can do if you want to sit there like a mug :P Removing them from the database would just be easier!!

I am not deleting the reputation via the database and I don't really want to go through the many pages and deleting them. I meant I could go into the database and fix the notification issue people are having due to the thread being moved out.

Yeah I know, thats what I meant, its easier to just remove the notifications rather than delete the rep to remove them.

That is true.
Okay, everyone who has the "1 notification" issue - Tell me and I'll fix it.

That wouldn't work anyway as it would only remove the comments, not the amount they received.

Another reason why I'm not doing it then :P

Although in theory I could craft an elaborate SQL query that would remove all the rep given in an entire thread.

Is the reason the rep isn't getting removed because it's too difficult/time-consuming to do or because it's actually fair rep? Just wondering.

Depends if you would class it as fair really. Some will agree or disagree with it - Basically it's the Christmas rep thread where you get rep just for posting in that thread. Normally this would be breaking the rules but we let it happen at Christmas although it was posted early which some users don't like. Which is why Chris or whoever decided to move it out.
Although if the rep is deleted then you could get it back if you post in the new thread that would be posted sometime near the 20th Dec. I would say it's more about it being a piss take in removing it (apart from Wills suggestion)
