Is it me or does Christmas get more boring every year, I feel all the excitement has gone!

I think it's got more boring for me this year because people have been preparing, putting their decorations up and their lights way too early. In November? Things like that just make the Christmas month a little less magical etc.
Christmas hasn't been as exciting for me for years, people are always pretending to be happy and stuff. Spoils it really.

I'd put it down to growing up personally...

^What he said
But yeah, once all the Christmas-y spirit from childhood wears off, you're pretty much left with food and presents.
Not that there's anything bad about that just.. it ain't the same y'know. Everything was so much me wondrous and exciting as a kid..

yeah exactly this, you grow out of the excitement. personally i dont give 2 ***** this year :P
Well if i was staying at my house for christmas i would say it would be a bit boring because all our relatives would be on the other side of Australia. Although this year i am having christmas over east and spending it with all my family so this year im pretty excited because i get to see everyone :)

Well at the same time you also get older each year so it is mostly due to your age. Although my Mum still gets happy and excited about it for sure as last year we was up at like 4am opening presents due to her being excited - I've always enjoyed Christmas time regardless of my age and will probably continue for many years to come.

Nothing wrong with that!

You actually just referred to your Mum as an 'it'.
Christmas is what you make it, I personally still love Christmas, especially getting up at stupid o'clock.

I try to make it as exciting as possible still, I do get a bit overexcited and act like a big kid etc when there is probably no need :P I love waking up early on christmas morning, and look forwards to the dinner etc :D

I still enjoy Christmas and do get a bit excitable the closer it gets. The main thing I like is having the family all together because it doesn't happen very often.

But to be honest it's probably because as you gradually get older you get more expensive things so you have less to open!!

because we think of logic now. Hey look a cold month where people die of hypothermia each year where we are apparently being watched over by a fat guy in a suit while we sleep. We get presents from people who spend there earnings to make us happy sometimes we don't even want the present. My grandma who had a serious knee operation is still trying to make me happy by sending me money for a new guitar but maybe it's unfair for her to give me money..just seems wrong
But yea christmas spirit goes with age methinks

Well Christmas has pretty much been a bit crap at mine since around 2007 because of circumstance such as my brothers working the past 2 or 3 years on Christmas day and other things that I shall not discuss. I think it most likely is age, but I think as you get older and if you have kids, it will probably be exciting again but in a different way.

Haven't really got the excitement for 2 years now, don't imagine it'll get any more exciting in the future either. :P

It all depends on what you actually look forward to. If you only look forward to the presents, then yes, the excitement will go.

Yeah, after he edited his post.
i'd say i get more excited for different things now that i'm older. although the 'magic' isn't there there's still so much more for me to get excited about, aha

I love Christmas :)
It’s the only day of the year I eat a full English breakfast with all the family, as I tend to skip breakfast any other day. No lunch for me, but feeling full can happily wait for a late Christmas turkey dinner and yes with Yorkshire puddings too.
The wrapping paper, ribbons and sticky tape all over the carpet, as we all unwrap. Yes I am still a big kid at heart, but now I find that the greatest pleasure is in giving and not just receiving and watching the surprised faces as gifts are opened.
Christmas for me hasn't really changed, I still get excited haha.

I so envy you!
I do like the Christmas parties and nights out spirit though.
Yes it seems to get more boring as the years go by
